Rusty will know hopefully but sure its all the same regardless of what engine you have one oil for all Astra j gear box

I'd have look but a quick glance at the Haynes says the following.

Manual Transmission Vauxhall / Opel gear oil (93 165 694)

Automatic Transmission
1.6L Petrol engine models Vauxhall / Opel automatic transmission fluid (93 165 414)
2.0L Diesel engine models Vauxhall / Opel automatic transmission fluid (93 165 147)

I know the Vauxhall / Opel stuff is meant to be lifetime.

A couple of questions if I may...

1. How about 1.4L turbo Petrol engine?
2. Do you have a recommended product?
3. How often do you change gear oil? If at all...
4. Do you add gear oil? If at all..

I actually had to rebuild my gearbox recently (87,000km).
So I'd like to know as much as I can.
