Crikey that's low down... I see what you mean about the wires being annoying.
I'm still waiting on my wedge camera arriving... Hopefully that will be hidden more then my G1W is at the moment

I mean I could move it higher up but atm I use the buttons to play around with it. It's not in the way either.
If only the wires were on the other side lol.

Very nice mate, I think I'm going to hide mine like that too!
My current issue is that it is turning it's self off and on whenever it likes, Rusty thought it may be because I have the dual USB socket constantly live even when car is off and the camera may be overheating but it still done it today even though I unplugged the mini USB side of the cable from camera..??
I have the piggyback fuse from box behind glovebox into dual USB socket, then a 3metre male to female USB cable running up to dash cam. I'm stuck as I don't know why it's doing it, on my way to work today it was perfectly fine but when I popped out it played up...

When you say turning itself off, does it stop recording or the screen turn off?
If its turning itself off completely. turn 'Motion Detection' off. That should help.
If its just the screen, check to see whether you have it set to turn the display off after a few minutes.

I think it's turning off altogether.. Motion detection is off too. Just spoke to Macauley who has same and he says he had same problem, need to lower it from 1080 to 720 and from 5mins to 3mins clips.. That cured it for him..

I'm using a Kingston 32gb class 10 card,

Alot of these camera's can't handle class 10 cards so that could be another option. Some specify class 4 and above and some say class 6.
I've been lucky. All of mine have worked with my class 10 SanDisk card but I always make sure I format it when I put it in the camera for the first time.

I will format it as soon as I get in the car and drop clips from 5 mins to 3 mins but keep it at 1080 and see if that works. It states class 6 or above..

If you still have no joy I would try a class 6 card. It's a pain but some cameras are notoriously picky about the cards that are used.

Yeah I love it, only cost £1.08 too! Excellent little addition, it just makes it look so much smarter!
I also got an email from PayPal with a voucher code for £8.50 so I've just ordered 4 green led panels so I'm definitely changing from red to green when they arrive

So I finally figured out what the problem was with the dash cam, it doesn't like receiving power from the USB socket. If I use the 12v cig lighter it's perfect, not sure why but it's now working perfectly so I have removed the dual USB socket out of the glovebox and replaced the rear 12v socket with it.
The standard 12v socket it too long to put in glovebox so I'm going to order a shorter one and wire that in by splicing from rear sockets power so it comes on with car and not constantly live!

Had the new 12v socket delivered this morning and only just got around to fitting it into glovebox! So dashcam is all now wires in.
![[Image: af28811e1c6b32e08aff414401c0ca00.jpg]](http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160413/af28811e1c6b32e08aff414401c0ca00.jpg)
I took @Rusty2009 advice and took power from the rear dual USB socket as not to tamper with front power! So now instead of being constantly live it only comes on when the car is turned on.
I tried the rear DHL USB socket and it seems to charge my phone a lot quicker compared to the belkin USB adapter that plugs into cig lighter socket!

Looking good mate. I had to fit my 12v socket behind the glovebox as I couldn't fit the plug in the glovebox with my shelf.

Yeah it's a very tight fit but does just go in. I had to buy a new 12v socket as the one from rear is double the length with it having the plug on end.

I'm looking at getting some eibach prokit lowering springs as soon as possible, then either some dna taillights or one of these head units (the price is about the same) Just torn between getting the outside done before starting the inside. So, every-time I see one of these units up and running I change my bloody mind lol.

I was exactly the same mate, I was torn between Powerfold mirrors and headunit but I decided I needed headunit lol. I am liking the way the inside is now and only really have biturbo steering wheel, gear knob and heated leather seats on my wish list but they'll come in time.
Outside I've fitted Eibachs and reverse parking sensors. Will get there at some point though!
