Welcome back to the VXOC FORUM.
Sorry for our lack of support over the last year but MYBB is back and so are we.
Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
I did it last year in November. Today I do not see any difference despite winter road conditions.
Since then I also washed the car twice with high-presurre cleaner (from safe distance of course)

This arrived for me today(thanks Lewis). Luckily my postman knows the score and left it in a safe location else id have missed it. I'll get it fit later today or tomorrow.
Can anybody help with this sharkfin? I know what the cables are for... Doesn't take a genius to figure that one but I'm not sure what I need to wore the DAB wire up to.
I'm assuming the white plug is for power, the squarish plug is for FM and the circle one is for dab. It's that one which confuses me.
In the envelope I got a long VAG group cable but I can't see where I'd be using it. As it looks like it plugs into the FM cable.
So whilst I wait for somebody marginly more switched on than me to help with the above, I thought I'd take advantage of my last day off and the nice whether and give her a little spruce

Yellow or red? From my point of view black is the best choice though...
Anyway it's your choice mate.
Just taken delivery of my new dashcam from China. It got rave reviews for the price of it, so I thought I'd replace the GS8000L that I've also just brought. Haha.
Anyway, here's the box and contents. I'm going to fit it using a dedicated hardwire kit piggybacked into the fuse box. I'll put some reviews of the camera and it's quality up later, which should be useful seeing as there's not many reviews about in general.
So ive just finished installing the camera using a hard wire kit. The build quality seems excellent for a £35 camera. One thing i didnt like is the silver ring around the lense. Seeing as I had some Plasti Dip leftover I decided to mask off the ring and spray with Plasti Dip
The finish is far from perfect but it does the job in terms of not making it so obvious that there is a camera on the window from the outside.

No mate not at all. I piggybacked into fuse number 6 and then ran a ground cable to the existing connections just above the fuse box. Took me about an hour and a half if that.

I brought it off a guy on here but @rusty2009 may have a link as he brought his from a website. Be warned though, they aren't cheap.
In terms of connecting it, I ran a power cable to the front accessory socket and a aerial cable to the DAB module. I've not connected the FM wire as that involves running new cabling. It's not worth it for me as I never use FM
Yeaahh it's better than others I've had from eBay... Looks the same but does provide better signal, not perfect but not bad either I'll link to it shortly

Just been looking into plastidip, that front grille looks awesome, how easy was it compared to traditional spraying, do you have sand the surface down at all?

I just taped the cable FM connector to a thin 6ft bamoo stick, making sure there were no sharp edges or anything to snag and pushed the cable between the tailgate roof lining and roof to the front passenger A pillar. I took of the front passenger hand grip off so that I could pull away the roof lining by the A pillar so that I could see the airbag, and then pulled the stick out far enough to undo the tape and pull through the FM cable. Whole job took about 15 to 20 mins in all, a lot easier than undoing the lining all the way around the passanger or drivers side, and easier than removing the trim along the floor.
Anyway, hope this dash cam does the business an it looks nice and stealthy.
This is what's left of my passenger side led setup
I was fed up of having warning messages, fed up of flickering bulbs....generally irritated by it all. I set off checking all the wiring and ended up losing my patience and disconnecting the lot. Ive replaced it with one of my polarg bulbs but i need to get some more for the right hand side so they match as that has a error free led in it.
Oh, and to top it off i snapped one of the retaining clips on the bulb holder.
Deep intake of breath... and slooooooowly exhale.. it must have been frustrating, I think I would have also kicked the crap out of the bin to let off steam.

Polargs on drl...
On sidelight mode...
They're a lot better than the factory bulbs (which isn't saying much) but in bright conditions you struggle to see them. Unfortunately I don't believe you can get the LED look on these type of bulbs on sunnier days, although there are probably much better bulbs than the ones I am using right now.
led will not look to good on very sunny days but it is due to the design of the drl light unit
as the bulb need to use a reflector to light the unit up
but on dull days the LED and Piaa are the best by far
