Hello. I'm thinking of upgrading my alloys. How much would 19'' or 18'' effect the speedo. I've got 17'' on at the moment with 225/50 tyres.

I like these ones. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vie...1759328721

With 225/50/17 I take it you have a GTC or 5-door hatchback and Sports Tourer with 1.6T, 1.7CDTi and 2.0CDTi engines?

Right for a start that PCD won't fit you need 5x115

19" wheels with a tyre size of 235/40R19 would give you 1.37 MPH higher

18" wheels with tyre size of 235/45R18 would give you 1.18 MPH higher.

Although what I found going from 17's to 19's it brings the speed bang on.

Ok cheers. So these would be ok?

So by the looks of the speed increase, it's nothing to worry about.

As above only thing I would say is make sure you get the tyre size I posted above.

Rusty... quick question. Would 235/35 tyres be ok as opposed to the 235/40 tyres for the 19's?

Thanks for that. Makes sense now. Speedo would under read with 235/35 at 1.5% rather than over read with 235/40 at 2.1%

Also will the bolts be ok that I've got for my 17'' alloys or do they need to be different for the 19'' or are they universal? Sorry for all the questions.
