Car radio doesn't always come on

I have a 2010 Astra. Recently, the car radio has not been turning on when I start the car. The screen is completely blank, but it does come on after I've been driving a few minutes.

Alongside this, the indicator lights work, but the sound does not work until the radio comes on.

Any idea what this is, and whether it's a common problem? I've had the car for almost six years now, and it's always been very reliable.

I've had it happen once when it was really cold. other than that I would say possibly the radio is starting to fail.

I heard it is worth disconnecting car battery for a while to sort out probs like that. Worth a try!

Thanks for your replies. I'll try disconnecting the battery and see what happens.

that is worth a try you need to leave it 30-60mins it can take up to 1hr for a full shut down.
