What is the part called where the air filter plugs into, the one that feeds air through and into the bottom of the filter

do you mean the air intake pipe that goes from the bumper to the bottom of the air box ??

you need to take the bumper off to remove the pipe also

it should not make any difference really i wouldn't worry about it
but if you do get one a scrap yard will be miles cheaper
