MOD HELP PLEASE
#1
Hi All,

I have just bought a 2011 Astra SRI 2.0 CDTI.

However pleasing the car is to drive there are a few things I would like to change (if possible)

1. LED Headlight conversion (factory or Aftermarket best??)

2. 19" Wheels (Good or Bad???) it currently has 17" but need refurbing

3. I would love to get a better exhaust as the standard doesn't really have any noise, I only want a little burble nothing massively loud but can only find VXR or GTC Units available?

any help would be greatly appreciated as im new to all this, only just got into fixing things for myself without a garage doing it.

also see below pics of where it is now and hopefully with your help will be much better soon.

Hi, tidy looking motor there.

when you say LED do you just want to change the bulbs to LED's? (you need to bare in mind that could = an MOT fail).

I was running 19's Love them they are atm off the car as it was cheaper to get 4x18's tyres than buy 2 19's.

As to exhaust I fitted the bi-turbo exhaust to mine (doesn't make a difference to the note until in the higher rev range & even that isn't very noticeable).

Astra-J 2.0 CDTI S/S
Retrofitted AFL, TPMS, Navi950, BT, DAB, Rear Camera, Infinity sound system, Towbar, Flexfloor & more.
I can do programming and retrofits using genuine GM MDI and Dealer software.

Hi Rusty,

Thanks for your comments,

She definatly looks good in photos but up close there is marks on bonnet where someone dropped something on it and also on the bumpers front and back on the corners most probably in a car park. but looking to get those painted over.

When i say LED Lights i would prefer to use the ones which came on the later spec astra SRI and the Tech Line GT as these are nice and bright i would prefer to stay away from just changing the bulbs due to problems when it comes to MOT time and the fact you have to take the front bumper off to get to the DRL's just to change them for the mot.

As with the exhaust i love the look of yours with the twin tail pipe can you buy the buttom diffuser for the SRI with two holes already there or would i have to modify my current diffuser to suit the new twin pipe exhaust??

as for the wheels i have seen a nice set of Wolfrace Assassins which are 19's and i think they would look great i was just worried more about the ride quality more than anything because i like how comfortable these are on long journeys.

sorry for all the questions but is it easy to retrofit heated leathers into the SRI or is that abit tricky to do thas providing i could find a decent set.

Cheers

Ok so mean the LED DRL/Side light units.

@JPbroad1970 can you look up the diffuser? I just cut mine tho. I do have an Irmscher rear bumper skirt for sale (the diffuser has be removed for it to fit).

I found the ride fine until I put SRI shocks on they were too hard (for my liking).

Do you have a rear fuse board? also if there wiring is there it's alot easier.
I will have my leathers up for sale at some point (just the dreaded heated seat issue on drivers seat which is very common).

They don't list a twin outlet for bi turbo on pre face lift. And on the face-lift looks like you have to cut it anyway as it only shows bumper extension for bi-turbo with twin outlet.

I presume you cut pre and post defusers to make twin
NAVI950 , DAB+ & Rear Camera , quick heat, auto lights and rain sensor retrofit Smile

Hi guys,

I have managed to find a twin exit diffuser for the pre facelift model abit pricey for abit of plastic (£190) but worth it. Pic below

Hopefully I can get those wheels in 19’s then rusty cos they will look really good after fitting.

Also I have just checked and there is a second fuse box in the left hand side of the boot compartment I take it this is what you mean Rusty regarding the rear fuse box
