Wondering if anyone has had any alloys refurbed with Lepsons http://www.lepsons.com/

Been looking online over the past few days and a lot of people say they're the best in the country.

Was thinking of getting the gun metal spayed gloss black. Seen loads about lately. Good or bad idea? [Image: fdfde867d5312a31ab196da0423f5865.jpg]

Or 2nd option.... Getting the whole alloy sprayed, binning off the diamond cut.

for cheapness get the hole lot powder coated the same color
but black and diamond cut would look very good

Not to sure if I'm going to use them now though. I was going to use the free courier service they offer with being 2 hours away from Gillingham but I'm the fussiest barstard known to man and if I get a crap job (which I know is unlikely) it would be a pain in the arse to sort out. They're expensive too so I'd want them to be bang on.

I got them done here http://www.xtremealloys.co.uk/ it's in Fareham in between Portsmouth and Southampton, didn't go with Lepsons in the end

The machine Xtreme alloys use cost £250,000. Everything's brand new. Be going nearly 2 years I think. Lepsons use a manual lathe cutting machine. According to the bloke at Xtreme alloys

Lepsons quoted me £528 and got a quote today locally for £400 Lepsons are pricey but heard good things but after seeing yours I wouldn't even look twice at Lepsons for that price and quality you got

Bit to far from me :( I'm going to keep looking I did one local company which reckoned they could repair the wheel and then do a paint finish they mimicked the diamond cut but had a more hardwearing finish. When I actually spoke to so them in person it wasn't the case. Yet to find somewhere local that will touch the wheels.

Where abouts you based ?

I got quoted £436 including vat but that was with standard finish. I wanted them colour coded which would of been another £12 per alloy! Plus I'd of had to use their courier services with living to far away.

And if I wasn't happy with the finish it would of been a pain to sort out.

235/40. Please tell me that's right?

235/40/20 is correct for the GTC not sure about the 5dr

They don't list 20" on the 5 door Lol but I found it's smaller than the GTC as the GTC has bigger wheel arches.

235/40/20 for the GTC/VXR would be 235/30/20 for the 5 door.

If you get any rubbing on lock etc you know you need to go down in tyre size.

But they do look good and do suit the 5-door

Yeah my mate said they are close. I put it on full lock and it doesn't touch. Not been out in yet though. Gonna have a quick blast round the block.

Yeah they're fine. Was worried there.

Just had a run on the motorway. Speedo seems better now. With the 17'' on the speedo reads 80mph and the satnav 75mph.

Doing 80 now it reads 77-78mph

My work van reads 2mph over too. 5mph over with the 17" seems a bit much.
