Possibly a one for tucpal or rusty2009. I have just connected a 7 pin socket to connect a lightboard for my bike carrier. when connected and brake pressed the brake flickers on the light board then goes off. The normal brake lights stay on but I get a message on the dash to check brake bulbs. Could this be because it is detecting too much load?

I would think so try adding a load to the brake light one each side hopefully that will work for you
