Retro Fit Apple Carplay Question - ed-b - 29:th-Jun-2021 Hi All I have a 2016 Astra GTC and love it. The only thing that I am not too keen on is the NAVI 650 system. My son has a 2016 Corsa and that is fitted with a large colour display and supports Apple Carplay. I am not too keen on the on board sat nav system supplied with the car and switched to Sygic about 2 years ago and use this on an iPhone which is precariously supported by a plastic holder (it falls off every time I go over a bump !). So I started to think that there must be a better way. And then I found a company based in the midlands that do 2 kits which completely replace the centre panel. Here are the links... Option 1 - GrundigĀ https://topvehicletech.com/products/vauxhall-astra-6-8-grundig-double-din-stereo-kit?_pos=2&_sid=131a617bc&_ss=r Option 2 - Kenwood https://topvehicletech.com/products/kenwood-vauxhall-astra-6-8-short-body-car-stereo-kit-touch-screen-carplay-android-auto-bluetooth-hands-free?_pos=3&_sid=131a617bc&_ss=r They are not cheap but they both come with a new fascia panel which makes the whole installation look like a factory fitted option. I'm OK at DIY and both kits come with full instructions but I wondered if any other members of the forum have tried these kits and are they any good ? Also, are there any other alternatives that I need to look at before moving ahead ? Any helpful advice would be gratefully appreciated. All the best Ed RE: Retro Fit Apple Carplay Question - dammfust - 10:th-Jul-2021 Looks a great bit of kit. Tempted myself. |
