Remap / New Member, Hi! - MidlandsGTC - 2:nd-Jan-2021 hi guys, So I'm a new member to this community here. Actually, I'm a new member to joining a forum about cars in general. I've got an Astra GTC 1.4 (120) Ltd Edition, I'm looking at possibly remapping her through Remapkings as suggested by a friend. The site has shown that it would go from 120 to 171, and torque from 200nm to 271 (priced at £234) I was just wondering a few questions: - If anyone has any experience remapping the 1.4 GTC, how did it go for you? Did you notice any problems? - I read somewhere that the 1.4 GTC has an M32 gearbox and the upper limit for torque could be a problem. Now I'm not really savvy enough to know the techs of this so I was wondering if anyone could provide some input on that. Would 271nm be problematic? - Lastly, bit of an odd question perhaps? Anyone who has the 20" rims from the Limited Edition - have you been able to compare this with smaller rims? Did you notice any difference, good/bad? Sorry if any of those questions are quite newbie Hope to speak to some folks soon! Thanks (: RE: Remap / New Member, Hi! - Rusty2009 - 5:th-Jan-2021 Welcome to VXOC. I've never heard of the remap company, the only I would say is do your research and pick wisely. The M32 gearbox is a weak box so do need to be careful, there are many that have had no issues with the M32 and a remap (but what there NM was I wouldn't know). I had 17" wheels went to 19"'s you feel more from the road having a lower profile tyre and the cost of tyres sent me down to 18" alloys. |
