Tire advice - jdkm01 - 13:th-Apr-2017

Hey guys,

Loving my astra but not the price of my r19 tires lol.

Ive seen a lot of people on here are using uniroyal rs3 tyres. anyone know a rough price on these?

Just been quoted £123 plus vat for some falken or £168 for continentals. not sure what to go with as need a couple of tires replaces but dont want to break the bank.

Uniroyal RS3s are amazing but they do not last long at all.. 6k miles for on 17s.

I now have 19s and have conti sport contact 5s on the front and CSC 3s on the rear and they're excellent however are low and need changing soon. Be putting Bridgestone potenza's on the front next as I have a pair.

I needed some new 19 inch tyres myself but found the selection was poor around my town. (i.e. Either real budget stuff or really high-end) Currently have Accelera which where OK when new but are pretty useless now in the wet. So I've ordered a pair of Goodyear Eagle F1 Assym 2 online from Oponeo for 140 quid each. (235/40x19) Ordered TUE, to be delivered today. I had the same tyres on my Civic but in 17 inch form. Great tyres, certainly the best I'd tried on the Civic as the Civic was pretty skittish on most tyres I'd tried.

That's the same size as mine, i keep putting it off but i got an advisory during the service one of the rear tyres has a crack in it so need to get it replaced and my drivers side front tyre is on 3mm. ill have a look ok that oponeo see what they have.

I managed to get the Good Year Eagle F1 As2 fitted to the front and they appear to be quite sound. The rim protector is massive compared to the Accelera's. It's been a bit wet so haven't pushed them yet. The ride is certainly less crashy, oddly the profile seems to be a bit lower at the same PSI as the Accelera's.
