Another bulb question - McGill2009 - 25:th-Sep-2016

Okay so I purchased a set of these for my GTC and they worked 100%, no errors thrown up at all.

https://www.lushlightingcity.co.uk/store/product-details.php?page=vauxhall-astra-&product=vauxhall-astra-t20-580-7443-led-cree-drl-sidelight-white-canbus-error-free-

However after my dad seen them on my car he asked if he could have a set installed on his mk6 5 door, the car has thrown up errors for both sides, does the 5 door need resisitors in order for them to not throw up any errors?

Any suggestions on what I can get him instead would be helpful.

Cheers for the help

Niall

You need load resistors if putting led's on the headlights on a 5dr J

will these be any good for my dads car? He doesn't want to go down the route of adding resistors

The Piaa bulbs are suitable for the 5door. The reason your gtc didn't throw any codes up is because the DRLs are not part of the Canbus bulb check system whereas the 5 door DRLs is part of the system. Only way to get around it is to install resistors, and then it's two resistors per side. 1 for DRL and 1 for side light

People are finding the Halfords bulbs better than PIAA bulbs.
