POWER FOLD MIRRORS retro fit - Rusty2009 - 17:th-Sep-2014

It sounds like Turkish.

POWER FOLD MIRRORS retro fit - Rusty2009 - 17:th-Sep-2014

I would say you would need to make some sort of module that will include,

A timer (this would need to have an adjustable setting as well).
12v constant power feed
12V ignition feed
Ground
Reverse input
Mirror up Output
Mirror up input
Mirror Down output
Mirror Down input

with an arduido its possible to do it, but want a cheap and simple solution lol

POWER FOLD MIRRORS retro fit - Rusty2009 - 17:th-Sep-2014

Came across this

£141 shipped.

Bit on the expensive side if you ask me.

well an arduino its cheaper than that...

but that expensive is for both mirrors, i think this is only needed on the passenger side

POWER FOLD MIRRORS retro fit - z8083 - 19:th-Sep-2014

I found a cheap way to do this but it needs some more test to be donne .

Looks good mate.

POWER FOLD MIRRORS retro fit - tucpal - 19:th-Sep-2014

that is looking promising

POWER FOLD MIRRORS retro fit - Arkanggel10 - 19:th-Sep-2014

you just have now to replace the switch with the power on of the reverse light or something like that...

nice work pal

POWER FOLD MIRRORS retro fit - z8083 - 24:th-Nov-2014

After a lot of test and adjustment with the module i manage to make it work , but it has some problems with the adjustment of the mirror when the car is working and when the car is not working , so im working on a new module .

this mod should be factory because its so usefull...

keep up

top work

Lol yea it should be let us know when its ready as i need a module still as rustys old one didnt work in my car :-/

What kind of problems do you have Z8083?
Iam still thinking of set up such a module, but I don´t want to make it time based.
I will try to use a reference. The reason is simple: If you move the mirror manually with your fingers,
all the time based functions will no more work for the new position. That´s why I did not set up
such a module already.

If anyone have some ideas, just let me know, I will try to figure it out.

My module is based on a simple timer circuit with transistors but I get different times because of different current when car is charging the battery same problem as kp module also in quick reverse mirror loose adjustment so delay must be add, I think only time based module is our solution to keep the module cost low I don't know yet my free time is to limited my mind has stuck. Jens your idea is like memory mirrors but I think memory mirrors have double wires for axis .

POWER FOLD MIRRORS retro fit - A20DTH - 10:th-Dec-2014

Hi Mate,

yes, the time based solution is the only solution. I found out that the mirrors of the Astra didn´t have a 5V reference signal,
thats why you won´t get memory seats for the Astra. The Insignia mirrors still deliver the 5V reference. With this reference
it is very easy to set the mirror 100% onto the right position.

Iam thinking of a module with microcontroller and a current sense circuit. It must have a balance counter for up/down (like a fader).
For example the highest position have 2048, the center 1024 and the lowest position 0. It must also count when you do a manuel
setup of the mirrors with the switch for up/down. I believe this all would not be the big problem. The only problem will be if
you change the position of the mirror manually (without the switch), for example when cleaning the glas or while ice scraping.

If I will do a circuit it would be mounted near the mirror switch, because all wires you need are over there.
