Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 21:st-Feb-2016

So I've had my car nearly 1month.
so far apart from wind deflectors, private plate changed over and plate surrounds... I've kept my mods to the interior so far.

That'll change when the weather does car needs a good detail. The calipers and hubs desperately need doing red and silver respectably. Also wondering if the Vxr splitter might fit.

So first is always my cars name tag (Clara) keeping with my doctor who assistants names.

Then the usual LED interior lighting red and white.

Like to keep it matching the dash.

Kitted up with dashcam and tomtom satnav dock. Bought nice long cables all tucked and hidden away.

Found this neat little key ignition ring too...

Belkin 12v power adapter with 4usbs keeping all my devices going on them long roadtrips.

Bluetooth to Aux so I can seamlessly play my phones music as the car Bluetooth can't handle it.

Lastly second set of mats as the first lot didn't cut it also Vxr pedal set.

Despite being a 1.4t heavy Astra... The trip computer reads as good as my corsa 1.4t did

So yeah that's as far as I've got.

very nice i am waiting on the ignition ring my self
look forward to what you get up to

RE: Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 21:st-Feb-2016

It's a nice little simple touch but looks just as good in person too.

Just keeping in light and subtle at the moment, we'll see how long that lasts though.

Subtle but nice! Good progress so far [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

The red led you have in the roof light... When does that come on?

RE: Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 21:st-Feb-2016

comes on with the rest of the ambient lighting door unlock etc...

RE: Clara Astra SRI - sheppy1 - 21:st-Feb-2016

Hmmmm I have mine white like the rest ya see and was thinking of going a different colour for that one but wasn't sure when it came on

RE: Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 21:st-Feb-2016

Yeah door. Unlock and open. Looks good from the outside looking in.

Then all others boot, mirrors and glove box are white. the red is rubbish for being able to see.

Clara Astra SRI - colly - 21:st-Feb-2016

Can I be cheeky and ask where you got the ignition ring from? Looks a nice wee touch!

Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 24:th-Feb-2016

Thinking of plastic dipping some stuff maybe some styling tape too... Inspiration from my last 2/3 cars grill and surrounding areas maybe rims. Also found some front splitter possibilities.

Always loved colour coded grills.

Last one grill and styling tape

Alloys I once did

Possible splitter... Don't know if it will fit since I have the styling pack though.

when i get my car im gunna give it a go, but i think ill get some vauxhall decals as i think it makes them look the part

RE: Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 27:th-Feb-2016

Never really thought to get decals.
They get dirty pretty quick though and with Etech paint the dust just wipes off.

As in does your phone connect to the cars Bluetooth aswel as play music through the Aux?

If so yeah. I can make a call it'll stop the music then soon as it's over music back on.

And thank you much appreciated.

RE: Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 28:th-Feb-2016

I wasn't sure it would at first but thought it was worth a gamble. It's been fantastic little bit of kit.

Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 19:th-Mar-2016

Summer's coming so I thought ideal time to invest in a roofrack for Clara.

Genuine Vauxhall one at a better price than Vauxhall can muster up though.

And for the bike Thurle freeride.

RE: Clara Astra SRI - tucpal - 19:th-Mar-2016

I've got a similar set up. Genuine bars but I use a basic cheapo bike rack off ebay. I found the thule ones expensive. Would you say they're worth the price?

I've found them very secure and durable so far.

I found them as a set for £90 on eBay delivered too... After reading reviews on I couldn't say no at that price.

RE: Clara Astra SRI - bhalay207 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Cracking price!

The ones I got were £24 delivered for the set Haha.... Very different!

My bike doesn't have a tubular frame, more like a squarish one... Would the thule handle that type? Mine does, but only just. It makes me nervous!!

Yeah the both bikes I have on mine are different, however you can adjust the clamps to fit your requirements for each.

Ha just fitted my rack for the summer too... its not a genuine Vauxhall one & the holders are the Halfords brand but at £90 all in I'm not moaning!

I really like the look of them with racks on don't know why I just do.

Can't complain at that price at all [THUMBS UP SIGN]

I only spent what I have due to selling stuff from my old car tbf.

Just can't wait to get out and about now.

RE: Clara Astra SRI - hejhopp123 - 20:th-Mar-2016

Bought Thule roof rack too... Didnt choose the streamline bars, went for square ones, but it is the kit that is expensive. 2000 sek total.
Afterwards I see Opel original rack didnt cost too much more.

Gonna buy cycle rack for the MTBs.. racks is the kind of stuffs people buy and never use so I buy used ones, only diffrent is dust come with the price.
Do you secure the bike more or do you trust the rack?

That's true you see loads that have Hardly had use.

I trust the rack, however I still fear it failing to be honest.

I have spare bungee cords that I may use just to give me piece of mind.

There's just something about seeing a roofrack with bikes on that makes me feel like I'm failing as a parent, not living the lifestyle I/ we should lol.

Great car by the way

Clara Astra SRI - PBHorne - 9:th-Apr-2016

First service today... Always a bit apprehensive as they scuffed and chipped the paint on my last car.

Anyways everything is fine and since had time to do a few things.

First

Fitted front and rear dash cam

Then I thought I'd have a play and vinyl tape the front grill.

Think I'm going to Plastidip or find a biturbo/limited edition grill though.

After keeping my Astra for the longest time I've ever owned any car for 1 year 10 months she's now sold.

Have few bits and bobs going up for sale genuine roof racks, tinted side repeaters etc...

I've moved onto the darkside aka Ford after getting a deal that I couldn't resist on a Focus ST Line X

I'll still be on here keeping an eye out for one of my old J's popping up under new ownership.

Nice car mate. I hired one for a week (zetec 1.5 tdci) during the snow and really enjoyed it to the point that I was going to trade the astra in on one. Great deals with Ford atm. Yes drove the st-line a couple of months ago. It has those gorgeous leather seats. Drool......

Yeah the best deals are now due to the new focus being launched soon.
