New member- Andrew - Andrewproctor - 20:th-Jun-2015

Hi, just to introduce my self not sure how active this is but being out the car game for a while.

I'm 20 from Glasgow and recently bought a 2015 1.6T Astra gtc the special edition(limited edition- seen it being called both)

I used to have a Corsa D but got rid of that due to getting a works van so a bit out of touch with all things cars now, I have a couple of question if any one reads this and has any answers it will be greatly appreciated. ??

;- I'm changing my bulbs to hids from what I believe the dip beam and main beam are one bulb?

;- Does anyone else find that the gtc is very bad for stone chips? Has any one got any mud guards and do these improve at all?

;- What's the best polish about just now? I used to be in the car game and back then it was autoglym and I had a bottle of that from years ago so used that last night and Im not keen on as it leaves white powder when it comes off.

Got some plans for the car upcoming hopefully.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Welcome to VXOC.

First of the High-beams will be separate unless you have AFL?

For GTC HID kit Cornishtaz did a how-to for that http://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/Thread-GTC-HID-How-to

IIRC it was mainly the VXR with Arden paint that was soft that was suffering from stone chips.

I use meguiars compound polish and wax, although I'm slowly trying out and moving over to Sonax.

don't forget to add some pics of your car.

As far as I'm aware there together? Not seen the set up before usually used to h1 and h7.
I just noticed small scratches beside the wheels. (I don't think the 20inch wheels help)
Thanks for the reply I'll need to try out different polishes.

Tried to put some pictures up can't work it out just now aha

I'm sure they are septate I'm sure @cornishtaz will confirm either way.

The car looks good.

All GTC's have a single bulb. Main beam is achieved by a shutter inside the headlight altering the beam pattern

Thanks, just trying to get used to everything with it.
Went from an old VW caddy with windows that you had to roll down so the technology is a bit of a step up to be honest.
