Dead Radio After New Battery - Mr_Blogberry - 24:th-Jan-2026 Hello all, I'm after some help. I have a 2012 GTC that I bought a few months back and had a new head unit professionally fitted. The car doesn't get used much and the (very old) battery went flat. It was jump started a few times with a power pack and there was nothing wromg with the stereo. Then I fitted a new battery. The stereo was working right up to the battery change. Now it is as dead as a dodo as is the top display and the indicators no longer make a noise. I have seen that others have had this same problem, but I am yet to see that anyone has fixed it. Up to this point, I have disconnected the battery for 60 minutes and reconnected it. Tested all fuses in all 3 fuse boxes and scratched my head a lot. It must be some sort of fuse or problem between the fuse box and the head unit/display. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions please? RE: Dead Radio After New Battery - Rusty2009 - 26:th-Jan-2026 Fuse's 4 5 & 18 in glovebox. It could be worth changing them as sometime a fuse can look ok but be blown. Failing that most aftermarket units have a control box which allows on the wiring harness this may have become faulty or maybe even the radio when you changed the battery you may have spiked the system. Also maybe worth checking the back of the radio most have a fuse. |
