Came with 3m tape but as I say it had gaps as it didn't curve to the roof: You can sort of see the gaps and also mine didn't match the colour of my car and lost all stations too as i say :( glad yours is working though mate and does look good Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Ah that's a bugger mate, I'll see how signal goes as I travel about but so far hasn't changed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Yeah I tried that too but still had a gap :( I didn't even move the car and I lost signal...was just sat there and could barely even get radio 1 :( Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Maybe a faulty fin mate? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Maybe! I may try the one you got in case mine was dodgy. I'd have to go for a black one as the grey looks like a failed paint match haha Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Yeah true, plus you could always paint it yourself if your ocd kicked in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 3:rd-Jan-2016 That would fail epicly haha. Be a right mess of I painted it lol Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - bhalay207 - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Looks good mate. I'd be tempted by one for my DAB but I've seen the one Rusty recommends and I'm not paying that lol Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Yeah I looked at them and they're over £100 haha. I'm not on the best of wages so glad this works for only £5. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - Rusty2009 - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Keep your eyes peeled on ebay for the one I have. RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 3:rd-Jan-2016 Yours is the proper one ain't it rusty? The one that's a dummy and needs the Ariel in the rear window? Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Rusty2009 - 3:rd-Jan-2016 No mines aftermarket. I have a VX dummy shark fin sat in the draw tho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - bhalay207 - 3:rd-Jan-2016 (3:rd-Jan-2016, 17:31:52)Rusty2009 Wrote: No mines aftermarket. Could spray it with some tint stuff and see what happens hahaha Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 6:th-Jan-2016 For £5 why not, if it doesn't work or is faulty just complain and get a refund. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - bhalay207 - 7:th-Jan-2016 Pain in the arse to install and wire in and then find out it doesn't work properly Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 7:th-Jan-2016 (7:th-Jan-2016, 13:01:25)bhalay207 Wrote: Pain in the arse to install and wire in and then find out it doesn't work properly What's that mate the shark fin?? Mine was very simple, just screwed into oem aerial and stuck it down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - bhalay207 - 7:th-Jan-2016 Yeah but I have DAB which I use a roof ariael for. The wiring for it runs down the OS foot panel by the doors. Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 7:th-Jan-2016 Ah right I see, I just have fm so was easier for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - bhalay207 - 7:th-Jan-2016 Yeah that makes sense. I'd need a guaranteed cert that it's a good one before I start pulling panels up Haha. Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 7:th-Jan-2016 Haha yeah I bet, nothing worse than doing it all and finding out its no good! I'd love dab but that's near bottom of my wants Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 12:th-Jan-2016 Which wires did you splice into to do the floor lighting mate? @tonto Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 12:th-Jan-2016 Passenger footwell, remove glovebox, unclip fuse box and remove, then I was upside down and found the loom that runs up a pillar. There's 3 grey wires and you need the thickest one, splice into that with red wire and use any black wire for the ground. I ran a wire from there into driver footwell then spliced into each where needed and then ran a wire to each rear footwell under the carpet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 12:th-Jan-2016 Ahhhh okay thanks! That's the method we have in the tutorial but I just couldn't find the grey wire as there were loads that looked grey and it was all too close and confined! Ha Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 12:th-Jan-2016 Haha yeah I was literally upside down with feet on headrest. There's definitely only 3 grey and you can tell which is thickest. Just be patient and take your time. It's a piece of cake really just need patience. You can use courtesy lights but I didn't want to remove a pillars lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 12:th-Jan-2016 Yeah I'm not removing pillars! I've done it before..it wasn't fun and I panicked when I was messing near the airbag curtains lol Okay I'll try again...probably this weekend as I've already got the wiring all sorted, driver side LEDs spliced into passenger side wire etc. Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 12:th-Jan-2016 Excellent, I'll show you mine at PVS if you're there or possibly the meet in February if you can make it. If by some mad reason you haven't got it done I'll try and help you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 12:th-Jan-2016 Thanks mate! Still undecided about PVS! I really wanna go to meet everyone but I drive loads daily for work and din't wanna spend about 6 hours driving to get to PVS and back :( Which is the Feb meet dude? Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 12:th-Jan-2016 We're trying to arrange one for sat 20th Feb. North East / North meet http://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=1983 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 12:th-Jan-2016 Ahhh nice! Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 12:th-Jan-2016 I've been to the Metrocentre American car meet but that was just to admire the cars! Not been to any others. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 12:th-Jan-2016 Be good to put usernames to faces and real names and get involved, help others out etc. Won't it [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 13:th-Jan-2016 Yeah it definitely will mate. I mentioned Barnard Castle as a possible location but no other ideas as of yet for Feb. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 13:th-Jan-2016 Yeah I checked that place out and it looked nice [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] what do we do at a meet then other than car stuff... We grab food and that? Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 13:th-Jan-2016 I've seen people go for food, went to cinema when fast and furious was released, drive around, sort of like a date really Hahahahahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 13:th-Jan-2016 Nawwww a group date! Yay for us! Hehe [WINKING FACE] Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 13:th-Jan-2016 Hahaha but yeah do some odd jobs if needed and if weather is ok and then go for food somewhere! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 13:th-Jan-2016 Finally a break from rain today so got her washed and the metal pressed plate put on the front!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - sheppy1 - 13:th-Jan-2016 Did you have any issues with the plates mate? Guessing not as your bumper where the plates go isn't curved is it. Looks good anyway! Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 13:th-Jan-2016 It is curved mate, just set back a little so plate is flush with rest of bumper. I just kept bending it and placing it against bumper until right then put no more nails tape on and so far so good! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - Kris - 14:th-Jan-2016 Car looks lovely mate but pointless hiding your plate now its on the other pics lol :P. I also just put pressed plates on my car and love them. they are much better than the plastic ones. I didn't bend mine I just drilled them in where the old holes were then taped down the edges with 3m double sided. Look great. Progress thread: Tonto - Tonto - 14:th-Jan-2016 Ah bugger hahahah, never mind I'm not that bothered. Yeah I didn't want to drill these so only used the no more nails double sided tape and so far so good! Poo e the look of them. The rear plate is in a black holder that's screwed on using exist lay holes. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress thread: Tonto - tucpal - 14:th-Jan-2016 very nice RE: Progress thread: Tonto - bhalay207 - 17:th-Jan-2016 (13:th-Jan-2016, 18:02:37)sheppy1 Wrote: Did you have any issues with the plates mate?
