In that case it would be v181. I can send you a link for v208, can give that a go to see if the problem still persist.
I did the update to from the links that are here in the forum.

Supposedly I'm on v181 correct?

Is it worth to update to the v208?

If so, can you give me the link to please?

I would always go for the latest unless it been proven buggy. The link i provider is for a stock v208 fw, no aftermarkets theme included. If you have a current aftermarket theme already you can copy your current uli files (images0 to images25) on to the new v208 dnl\bin\system\adit\g_mpeu10 folder replacing the stock images. If you just have the stock theme then you can simply download and install without further work.

Thanks raimon, update has been applied see how it goes tonight and over the next few days.

Is the V208 what GM are pushing out via CD?

I'm going to look into this voice issue when I get a chance I'm sure it's to do with the language the orig navi900 files come from.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - raimon - 2:nd-Jul-2016

This is the latest version as I'm aware. Yeah this is the cd version which I extracted then zipped it.

From what I heard The real navi 900 can also control the sat nav via voice activation, hence why we have issues on our modded version of 600, and also it is thought the 900 has 2 mics

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - tucpal - 2:nd-Jul-2016

there are no two mics on the nav 900 it will be an internal software that is missing
but i agree with rusty if the files can be read and set to the uk it may be worth looking at as they are russian files

found you a very good screen saver rusty shut down image 03 png
its for the standby screen and replaces the griffin

how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - Rusty2009 - 2:nd-Jul-2016

No navi900 only has one mic and all navi 600's fitted at factory come with the extra wire from the BT module to the navi.

That is nice Tucpal, I'm still liking the factory theme but do want to change the start up shut down pics

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - tucpal - 2:nd-Jul-2016

just edit that picture into shutdown 03 png in original files
then that will be your standby logo and it will replace griffin.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - Rusty2009 - 3:rd-Jul-2016

I had a look into this Language issue, I think I may have found the issue but need some help.

so in the g_mpeu10 unpack the file registries.uli then in the temp folder open up the file sdsapp.reg I use ConTEXT

Now search for Language there 2 parts.

1st part
Quote:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BLAUPUNKT\PROCESS\SDSAPP\RECOGNIZER\APP_CONFIG\Config]
"ASR_CFG_COUNTRY"="4277"
"ASR_CFG_LANGUAGE"="25701"
"ASR_CFG_USER"="0"

2nd part
Quote:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BLAUPUNKT\PROCESS\SDSAPP\VOICECONTROL\APP_CONFIG]
"WDG_MSPERTICK"=dword:000009c4
"LANGUAGECODE"="25701"

"HOMECOUNTRY"="4277"
"DESTCOUNTRY"="4277"

"PPSPEAKER"="Andrea"
"PPGENDER"="2"
"USERID"="0"
"TIMERVALUE"="2000"
"DOWNLOADFAIL_RESETCOUNT"="3"
"RECTIMERVALUE"="500"

I can't find the ASR Country code for English.

I have found the ASR Language code for English which is 25966

Here's a list for others
Quote:German = 25701

British English = 25966

French = 26226

Italian = 26996

Portuguese = 28788

Spanish = 25971

Dutch = 28268

So if anyone knows the ASR code's for Country can you please say.

Very interesting. I wanted to see if i could change the voice files on the nav as the voice is robotic, so i browse the map card and there were files there but in their special format so i stopped there, i was hoping i would have some luck, it is worth taking a look in the map card to see if the code you are looking for is there.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - tucpal - 3:rd-Jul-2016

Not good pal. Any ideas why it has failed the update.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - tucpal - 3:rd-Jul-2016

i edited the res bin file that had the night sky in it and it would not pack back up with the gm packer
so i deleted it from the files and replaced it with another res bin file for one with the night sky
but looks like it did not load correctly so it went into boot mode
i loaded the disc i had v181 and it recovered but then just starts up and shuts down
so it is bricked and will not stay on for anything to load back up
going to see someone this week to flash it or reset the display and then update etc so hopefully that will get me back
then i will just upload the files i had as i know they work

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - GOKIWI - 3:rd-Jul-2016

Does this help ?

In the field, enter the code for the ASR language to add.
This code must be of the format ll-cc, where ll represents a two-character language code, and cc represents a two-character country code. For example, the code for U.S. English is en-us, and the code for UK English is en-uk.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - tucpal - 9:th-Jul-2016

so good news and bad news on the nav unit
yes it was bricked

Good news. I did mention before not to mix up the resource.bin files with different versions. But least you got yourself a working system now.

Hi Guys ,

I've updated from the 600 to the 900 software. All the steps seemed to work as expected, but I don't have the option to switch to the 3D maps in the settings. I've tried to reinstall the software again several times to no avail. Any ideas?

I Have Now Done The Hack Update For the Theme Color Change on the NAVI 600/900
That Updates the Nav 600 900 Hack i did the Other Day.

I am Totally over the Moon with this One it is Perfectly Done.
I now have a Blue Day Theme Mode
And a Red Night Theme Mode
Even the blue theme looks better as it is now not so bright and a different shade of blue
And it also has lots of Revised Icons and symbols
Even the Sat Nav Display now has Stars in the 3d Background in night mode.
This is so much Better than the White and Blue that the Navi 600 Comes with as Standard
I Give all Credit to DanRaz as this is all his Hard Work Thank You.

..........The NEW Blue Theme For Day Mode...............

.......The NEW Red Theme For Night Mode..................

All Credit Goes to DanRz from France on the Astra GTC Forum as This is all his Hard Work.

So I Now Have 3D Heads Up Maps.
Speed Camera Warnings and POI Alerts.
Color Theme Change Night and Day Modes To Blue and Red.
Can it Get any Better Very Happy and Well Worth the Effort To Do.

.....WARNING......
THIS IS A SOFTWARE UPGRADE HACK FOR THE NAVI 600
AND I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ISSUES THAT MAY ARISE FROM YOU DOING THIS
THIS IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK...FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER..

THIS MUST ONLY BE DONE AFTER YOU HAVE DONE THE NAVI 600.900 UPDATE FIRST
THIS WON'T WORK JUST ON A STANDARD NAVI 600 OR 900
THE UPGRADE IS NEEDED TO THE NAVI 600 FOR THE NAVI 900 FUNCTIONALITY
SEE TOP POST FOR UPGRADE INFO.

This How to Has Been Done and is Here on VXOC just for are Translation Issues and to Help us Here in the UK

...REMEMBER THIS IS A HACK SOFTWARE UPDATE...

This will Wipe all POI Setting and Saved Picture Frame Settings and Navi Address Book and Saved Locations
You will be Reflashing the Updated Navi 600/900 Again just like you Did in the last Part of the navi 600 900 Upgrade
With the USB Apart from this Time it will go to 100% no Problems the Disc is Not Needed for This Bit Just the USB
It is Recommended all Imported POI and Imported Picture Frames all Deleted from the Navi Before you Install the New Theme Update

First of all i Recommend joining and Reading the Posts and Threads on the Navi 600 900 Theme Change Upgrade
On These Two forums you will Need Google Translate And Gather as Much Info as Possible as There are Some Bad Links out There as well as good ones.
Here is some of the Options out there in this Thread but this How To will only Cover the Links to the Blue Day and Red Night Themes.

It is Also Possible for the Techie Minded to Rewrite and Edit your own Theme
This is done by Modifying the Original Navi 600 900 Download DNL Pack You Downloaded to do the Navi 600 900 Upgrade
Press the DNL File Till You get to System\adrit-mpu10 You will Then see a List of .ULI Image Codes
Image 22.ULI is for Day Theme and Image 11.ULI for Night Theme And image 14.ULI is Animations Logos
Extract them Using a GM UNPacker and then Saving to a Temp file and Editing the .ULI Codes
And then Using a GM Packer to put them Back into the Correct NAV 600 900 DNL File After Editing.

I Would Strongly Advise Anyone Doing this to Ask for Help And Advise with This as if You Get it Wrong you Are in Big Trouble.
But if you Are Keen to do This Then Here is the GM Packer/Unpacker Link and The Original navi 600 900 Upgrade DNL files to Edit

You Will Need to Find the Original Location of the Navi 600 900 res Vip DNL File You Downloaded For the NAVI 900 Upgrade and Note its Location on Your PC
When You Extract the New DNL Theme File Place it Somewhere Different so they Don't get Mixed up as They both are called the Same DNL.

Next you will need a USB Stick Formated to FAT32 8GB is Fine But make Sure it is off Good Quality.

You will Also Need To Download WINZIP to Unzip the RAR File Link To Get the New DNL Theme File to Open and then Copy and paste to the USB

Do Not Remove the USB or Turn the Ignition off Till This Has Been Done
The Navi will Now Reboot
When it awakens then you can remove the USB
And Then Reinsert the SD Navi Card
Then Turn the Navi On and Off
And Now You will Have The New Themes Installed.

.....Please read this.....

Remove any poi,s before doing an updated or new theme.

If you are doing a theme update and have upgraded the nav SD card to a newer version
than you used for the original nav 600/900 update
then you must remove the newer SD card
and then reinstall the SD card you first used before doing any new theme update etc
after the theme update has been done and the system has rebooted
then you can put your newer SD card back in and it will update the card again
then put any POI,S back on.

Anyone who has a nav 900 SD card will need a theme that runs with v200 or v208
the card will bring up all the files for voice recognition on the nav, usb, etc
and the nav will speak to you but you still can not talk to it.

Pressing the phone button on the nav unit first before pressing the steering wheel button
is a normal function of a nav900 the same would apply if you wanted to talk to the nav usb etc on a nav900.

The original nav600/900 update is a v181 file
most themes are v200 when you update a theme in full it will become a v200 file
you can swap or copy and paste a image file say uli.14. uli.22. and uli.11. from another v200 theme
but do not try and copy and paste any other resbin.file or system file or font.uli etc from a v208 or v181 file into a v200
as mixing system files will brick the nav unit.
best thing to do is just alter the uli.image files only and do not attempt to alter any system files at all
the gm-respacker will not repack any system batch files ,resbin etc it will only pack the image.uli.files.

some v200 theme files have had there poi icons set up with speed icons 30, 40, 50, etc
these have been edited and will show on the nav map and pop up speed camera icon
and the poi list in the nav settings as 40mph symbol etc
this type of theme files are best avoided as they look crap
you can not edit the resbin. to remove these symbols from the nav map so there best avoided.

what you want is the v200 files that have the poi icons for the speedcams image
they look much better and have the starry night sky in the night theme sat nav
to check you have the correct ones before you upload it to the car
look in image.20.uli with the gm-res unpacker and check the images for the speedcam image
if it has the 30, 40, 50, 60, etc look for a different theme.

Do not try and add two night themes or two day themes to a v181 v200 v208 file
same with fonts you need to have night and day or the text color will vanish.

there are v208 files out there there the latest files but they're no different to the v200 files
the problem will come when say if you made a mistake on the update of a theme with v208
and you have already used v208 before and the nav unit goes into bootloader mode
then you need a v208 res disc to recover the nav unit like you did when you first installed the original v181 3d map update
if you were to add the v181 disc if your v208 usb did crash then it could brick the nav
so if you are using v208 then stick with the v208 files and only update the images.uli.1 to 24 and you should have no problems.

if you have v208 and uploaded a v200 or v181 theme in full to the nav unit you risk going into bootloader mode and risk brick without the v208 res disk.

image burn, good media and a slow burn speed is the perfect combination for a successful upgrade.

Re Boot animation.
I altered the images11.uli,images14.uli and images22.uli to have the insignia stuff defaulted to Vauxhall.
Ive reread the instructions and even left the radio off for 15 mins but I not getting the animation.
Everything else 100%, even got your insignia logo, but no boot animation.
Any ideas or can you guys edit one for me to test, it could be a corrupted file?.

Ive just ordered the video interface, thatll be next

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - Uthred1986 - 4:th-Aug-2016

hi, not taken the step to do the full upgrade on my Navi 600 but even so i still seem to be struggling to get the poi speed camers uploaded. lol

Are the files in the link on the top of the thread still working correctly?

When i copy them to a usb it says 'do you still want to copy without all properties' when its being plugged into the car nothing ever shows?

thanks in advance

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - tucpal - 4:th-Aug-2016

click on the link mypoi but don't open it then right click and send it to the USB
plug it in the car
go to settings on the navi
find navigation settings
scroll down to import poi,s
press it and the update screen will come on and follow install
it will stay on 50% for some time but it will get there to 100%

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - toxic-virus - 5:th-Aug-2016

Tucpal, Cheers dude, the animation works when the ignition is switched on, I'm a happy boy.
Just trying to sort out my reversing camera now.

Glad you are happy [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - toxic-virus - 7:th-Aug-2016

M8 your tut re the reversing camera interface is great, shame the company shipped the wrong sized camera housing.
i Had to rip out an aftermarket bluetooth that had a breakaway interface, what a nightmare.
All sweat now and im supprised how easy it was to rip out.
I take it the bluetooth for the mobile was a separate module not housed within the cd drive.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - havok - 5:th-Sep-2016

Hi tupac,

I have managed to flash the firmware with the files on the first post. Only other thing I have added is the POI for cameras.
I have noticed a bit of a random bug where when I first get in the car (it's only happened 3 times so far), there is a "bong" noise as if I had left the keys in etc. - it even carried on when the car is started. If I then switch off everything and then put key back in and start the engine all is fine and stops the noise. I can only put it down to this firmware update as It has been fine up until then.

Has this been experienced by anyone else?

From reading through I understand that the firmware flash only brings my unit up to v181 - will I be ok to load the V208 firmware (which you have provided above) on to a memory stick as before (deleteing previous obviously) and then letting it upgrade the unit? I don't have to do anything special like the 80% failure originally?

I don't have any themes, just POI, so I am guessing as long as I have a backup of them then I can just proceed to flash the unit then load them back in on top?

Thanks,
Dave

Sorry - somehow I managed to type tupac instead of tucpal... Maybe I should go back to bed already

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - tucpal - 5:th-Sep-2016

Not heard any random beeps before
did you set poi distance to near
and i take it there is no speed cam near you haha
may be best to upgrade to v200 or v208

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - Chrisoldinho - 18:th-Sep-2016

Hi guys, looking for a bit of advice.

Upgraded to Navi 900 fine, 3d maps, poi etc. I then looked at this thread again and noticed I would likely be running v181 as I simply flashed the original files in this thread.

I downloaded v208, extracted the dnl and put it on a USB. Updated fine, but now I seem to have lost 3d maps, it's basically as if the update has reverted it back to a Navi 600. The only thing I may have done wrong, was I left the SD card in whilst updating to v208, i'm not sure if I should have taken this out?

Anyway, to irritate me further I thought i'd just start again following the original steps, however I now find that after I initially insert the USB the update just works and it never goes into boot loader mode. As a consequence when the Nav reboots i'm stuck with just 2d maps and in effect a Navi 600.

My ideal is obviously to be running the latest v208 with 3d maps (navi 900), what do you suggest to get me back going?

Thanks,
Chris.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - tucpal - 18:th-Sep-2016

you have press the navi button and then selected map options and looked for 3d maps yes.

ok first always remove the SD card when you see the update screen and before you press install
that is very very important or you risk brick if you leave it in
and wait till the navi reboots after the install is done before putting the SD card back in.

you won't need the bootloader CD again after the first install
it is just the USB only after that and it will now always go to 100%

before you upload again can you show me the link you used you may have used revert back to nav600 link.

before you go for the v208 i would like you to try the v181 again first then the v208 if the v181 works and 3d maps option is there in the navi settings

so after you report back to me all you have to do now is upload v208 then after 100% it will reboot after that install SD card
and then go to settings and turn on 3d map option.

v181

https://www.vxoc.org.uk/download/Vauxhall%20Navi%20600-900/migrate_600to900.zip

v208

http://www.vxoc.org.uk/download/Vauxhall%20Navi%20600-900/Navi900-600%20Version%202014-V2.08%20update%20cd.zip

remember this is a zipped file so extract and open it and copy the DNL to USB.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - Chrisoldinho - 19:th-Sep-2016

Thanks tucpal, it was my bad. I was going to Navigation Settings as opposed to pressing Navi then the centre button to open map options. I can see the 3d maps which means I am using the Navi 900 software, phew...

I downgraded to v181 last night so i'll put the DNL folder on a USB and go back to v208 and confirm everything is working

Thanks,
Chris.

RE: how to upgrade the NAV600 to a NAV900. - Morpheus - 29:th-Oct-2016

Hi guys..

Just out of interest - I have mixed thoughts on this, not tried it yet.

What's the point of the 3D map? It seems that all it does is show the same amount of info (perhaps less) but in about 2/3 of the display height - the rest is just that "sky" haze imagery.

I'm not trying to be confrontational - if it's just a "I like to look of it", fine... it just feels that the 2D maps give better info (a little more and over the whole screen)

However - I DO like the POI notification; good for the speed cams..

But - has anyone seen a UK speedcam poi file - the ones here are all Europe.

Thanks..
