But no next time I think I'm going for uniroyals RS3s. Just replaced my rear odd with brembo pads lol! Think when each brake part needs replacing I'll be getting brembo. But like you say if I could afford it is get the best. Need a better pod job I do!

That make absolute sense mate [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] was more a rant towards folks who have money and don't car what they have wheel wise! Haha.

Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk

Ahah but how do you think they get the ££'s, one of my old landlords was very rich his own house was worth over a mill yet he drove a clapped out old banger and dressed like someone living on the street. He wouldn't pay out for any repairs on his own car let the property was getting rent for.

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - stigeye - 19:th-Mar-2016

I think too many people like buying brands, regardless of safety, they naturally assume that if you pay a lot of money for a branded tyre you are safer. Branded tyres may last longer but may not necessarily be the safest. If safety was everyone's concern they would only buy tyres with 'A' rated wet grip, after all we live in a predominantly wet country. Too often I see people putting long-term wear over wet grip handling. Facts are there's more to choosing a tyre than price & name.

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Jj0063 - 19:th-Mar-2016

https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/131726309239

I'd drive with the nail in it for a few days or stick the space saver on!

I buy specifically Jinyu YU63, they're on my Astra and our Mini too, bloody awesome tyres in both wet and dry. As I say I pay £39 each for 235/35/19 - awesome value for money and they always come within 24hrs of ordering, used EARS Motorsport for years now, great guys.

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Welcome to the world of bigger wheels lol

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Hmmmmm I'm still not convinced! Hahaha. Must be a reason all these top car makers use Michelin, Bridgestone etc. They won't put tyres on that aren't top notch as they won't want people having issues and claiming against them.

And it's worth having the bigger alloys as they look awesome [WINKING FACE]

I know this doesn't help me now but I took put the 7 quid insurance on the tyre... Free puncture repairs and they said with this one I had if I'd have had the insurance it would have been a totally new free tyre! Had 8mm left on it!

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Oh yeah! Got a bluefin remap on the car now too taking me to damn near 150 break and more torque too! Only put the insurance up by 12 quid a month!!

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Sooooo I'm looking to get my break callipers painted (eventually!!) and thinking about purple...never seen them before so they're not too common and i reckon they look great!

What you all think?

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 19:th-Mar-2016

The purple in the first picture looks nice!! Will be different too like you said!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Sweet!!! Yeah didn't wanna go red or blue like everyone else....looks smart too I reckon! only reason I haven't ordered it already is I don't trust myself to take them off along with the alloys! ha. Not sure how else I'm gonna be able to do them though!

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 19:th-Mar-2016

Apparently take wheel off and use a brush to paint calipers while still on!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Rusty2009 - 19:th-Mar-2016

The purple in the 1st pic looks like the colour JohnL has spray wrapped his car

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016

@rusty2009 you're right! Just need to find it somewhere now to buy!

@tonto hmmmm wouldn't all the crap need blasting off then first somehow?

Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Rusty2009 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Yeah wheel off and paint with brush

Brake cleaner and a wire brush.

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016

I only have a jack though... Would I be able to Jack it up, leave it on the jack and take the wheel off or do I really need axle stands?

Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Rusty2009 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Just place the wheel under the car by the Jack, what I used to do when I was a nipper

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016

On its side in case it falls you mean or to actually support it?

Also can only find colours like this

Doesn't seem right

Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Rusty2009 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Yeah on its side mate, it's just incase the Jack goes. Not the done thing nowadays tho.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 19:th-Mar-2016

Even though I use proper axle stands I still put the wheel under the car. I'd rather the wheel take the hit of a failed stand than my head.

Hahahaha that's amazing!! But sorry to disappoint you all! That didn't happen lol

The stuff I got was really good actually, the clay mit was especially good! Could feel it sort of catching on all the invisible crap on the car like sand paper, the more I went over it the smoother it felt till I was done

Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 20:th-Mar-2016

Well done mate, looks lovely! Think I may try the clay mit on my car too!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 20:th-Mar-2016

Yeah defo worth it that thing was! I was gonna get the clay bar but Russell recommended the mit as it's reusable [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] the wax and detailing spray and the mit were all g3 branded and 3 for 2 from halfords... 25 all in including some new sponges and micro fibre clothes

That's really good. The mit I'm watching on ebay is £20 with detailer spray. Might get myself to Halfords on payday.

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 1:st-Apr-2016

Anyone know if this would clip onto my current hidden exhaust pipe?

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 1:st-Apr-2016

I think off the top of my head the exhaust bends downwards so they'd fit upside down I think loo

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 1:st-Apr-2016

Ffs! I'm trying to avoid spending hundreds here by going down the custom exhaust route or having to buy an exhaust from a 2 litre have having the tip cut off and welded to my tail pipe! Ha

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Jj0063 - 2:nd-Apr-2016

That would fit depending on the diameter of the pipe... I purchased one that someone had got for their 1.4... It fitted theirs but I had to cut slits in it to open it up.

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 2:nd-Apr-2016

What's with the horrible fake heat discolouration all about?

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 3:rd-Apr-2016

Haha yeah it's awful ain't it! Luckily they have ones without that rubbish on it...However, does anyone know what the diameter of the pipe is? They have a 7.5cm one and a 6.5mm one.

Cheers

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - J1ODYA - 3:rd-Apr-2016
