Progress thread Tucpal - Cameron UK - 15:th-Aug-2014

Great pics

Progress thread Tucpal - WhelanUK - 15:th-Aug-2014

Looks great

Progress thread Tucpal - SI SRI - 15:th-Aug-2014

Great pics mate. The ride height is perfect and the wheels are in a excellent colour for the bodywork. How lowered is the car again mate? Any issues since fitting?

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 16:th-Aug-2014

EIBACH 40mm
the ride is much more fun it turns and holds the road much better
the car pulls off better as the car remains planted to the road you dont get that lift from the front any more
down my local twisty roads the car feels fantastic and the handling is improved making it much more fun
i have lowered cars before but the j seems to cope alot better with it may be it is the stiff suspension the j has
it is slightly bumpier than standard but nothing that will bother you the car copes with it very nicely even on the 19.s low 40 profile at 39 psi
36 psi feels better for ride comfort but if anything the car feels like it manages the bumps very well
even speed bumps dont seem to be an issue taken at the correct speed of course
on the motorway it is perfectly smooth
the only test i have not done yet is the full load test to see how it copes with 4 to 5 people in it then things would change i would think
over all i am very happy with the ride and looks.

Progress thread Tucpal - Rusty2009 - 16:th-Aug-2014

That would be my concern mate fully loaded your be dragging that ass.

Don't get me wrong it looks stunning.

But I think a 25-30mm drop would be better for me the speed bumps round may way even at 5 MPH and I was still scrapping on some with the 17's on.

Progress thread Tucpal - J1ODYA - 16:th-Aug-2014

That's one loved car.

Looking good.

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 16:th-Aug-2014

thanks all

That the biggest issue I have buddy is a full load with 3 children aswell ranging from 9 to 3 yrs and get springs on a 40mm drop but I haven't seen anything yet for the J that is on a 25 or 30 mm drop or am I just not looking in the right places. Photos of your car though mate stunning.

i would only recommend eibach or H@R they are the best
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDQQFjAE&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lmfvauxhall.co.uk%2FH-and-R-Sport-Springs-Astra-J.html&ei=0YnvU6CCCNSZ0QXag4GQBw&usg=AFQjCNGnjMcgXiWYcjqPxlz34cBjXd3tmw&sig2=sSsAkG1TpbYEmFhO3Gw5nA

but they both seem to lower 40mm i dont regret it at all i had the same concerns but i wish i had done it sooner now

also the link in the above post is for the VXR that only lowers 25mm as the car is lower to start with

Progress thread Tucpal - Rusty2009 - 16:th-Aug-2014

They do 30mm drop

http://www.gnjmotorsport.com/vauxhall/astra-j-10/lowering-springs-en-209/

but it only for the GTC don't know if we could use them on a 5 door.

Progress thread Tucpal - SI SRI - 16:th-Aug-2014

Cheers guys I think I will give them a ring Monday as see if they fit or not.

Cool can you let us know please what engine do you have? I have the 2.0 CDTI.

Progress thread Tucpal - SI SRI - 16:th-Aug-2014

I have a 1.6 turbo SRI in the 5dr

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 23:rd-Aug-2014

just got the car back today from paint
i have a long last got the dent in the rear arch fixed
and side skirts and roof spoiler also repainted nice and new
full detail done today clay cloth and wax so looking good and all ready for trax now :cool

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 26:th-Aug-2014

just redone the sunshade along with VX.O.C logo.

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 1:st-Sep-2014

decided to get a rear bumper protector in stainless steel and wrapped in 4D carbon
as the dirt just builds up and i am fed up with cleaning that area
it is also covering up some scratches nicely
won't be everyone's cup of tea but i like it and it does the job.

Progress thread Tucpal - Rusty2009 - 1:st-Sep-2014

I've been thinking about getting one just debating stainless at £48.00 or clear film at £8.00.

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 1:st-Sep-2014

the cheap ones dont really do the job that they are designed to do
like stainless does protects the bumper from scratches etc
that one would look very good on a black car

I may end up re wraping this in silver 4D carbon wrap but i have not made my mind up yet

Progress thread Tucpal - Cameron UK - 1:st-Sep-2014

Yeh I would 4d carbon wrap it

Progress thread Tucpal - Grazza - 1:st-Sep-2014

Tucpal where can I get one of the 'www.vxoc.org.uk' stickers?

Progress thread Tucpal - Rusty2009 - 1:st-Sep-2014

From the club merchandise section mate or at trax

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 2:nd-Sep-2014

changed my mind on the bumper protector it just dont look right
so i have ordered some silver 4D carbon wrap to tone it down
just hope it arrives up by friday in time for trax :cool

Progress thread Tucpal - Rusty2009 - 2:nd-Sep-2014

I'm not sure on chrome one I've not liked the look of it on the estate found this one though

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390391081799?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 2:nd-Sep-2014

i was looking at that but a bit too big for me
but it will look better than the chrome
i am changing the color as the black is reflecting on the rear hatch
and just looks weird the carbon silver will work and do the job of protecting that area

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 3:rd-Sep-2014

Had an idea last night to wrap the inside of the griffin
gloss black so they stand stand out better
to match the freshly painted nut covers

before

after

Progress thread Tucpal - Rusty2009 - 3:rd-Sep-2014

I think it would look better if you did it all black it will draw the eye to center more and give the wheel a balance.

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 3:rd-Sep-2014

i did try that but i prefer it like this it looks 100% better in real life
you really dont notice the edge against the antracite
and they look like little badges that stand out much better

Progress thread Tucpal - Cameron UK - 3:rd-Sep-2014

I do have to agree with rusty there! Wrap the whole thing black

Progress thread Tucpal - Little King - 3:rd-Sep-2014

Car looks stunning mate (Y)

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 3:rd-Sep-2014

thanks all

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 5:th-Sep-2014

changed my mind on the bumper protector it is gone.

Progress thread Tucpal - Cameron UK - 5:th-Sep-2014

tucpal Wrote:changed my mind on the bumper protector it is gone.

Gone gone? Or could I buy it off you?

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 5:th-Sep-2014

i will bring it to trax you can have a look

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 8:th-Sep-2014

well after seeing the vxr side repeaters on Dickos car and liking them i have just order some myself :cool

still considering wraping the roof matt black or carbon any thoughts would be welcome on that
also think i may plasti dip the chrome window trims
and looking into getting a full exhaust system made as soon as possible
i think i will go for a twin oval on one side to be different instead of the duplex

Progress thread Tucpal - Turner_SRi - 8:th-Sep-2014

I've now put my vxr indicators on and am happy with the result fair play

I knew you would find something too do when you said that was it all done!!!!!!

did you enjoy the Jaffa's?

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 8:th-Sep-2014

i ment to0 hand them out but yer i ate the lot on the way home

Progress thread Tucpal - Cameron UK - 8:th-Sep-2014

I would get the roof gloss black and same with the trims

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 8:th-Sep-2014

i sure a corsa on the way out with the mat black roof looked very nice to me
gloss would be to shiney
anyway you will be helping me in a few weeks so we will have a little north west meet
to get a few odd jobs done near manchester maybe

i will plasti dip the chrome trim that will make the gloss black trims still stand out

Progress thread Tucpal - Rusty2009 - 8:th-Sep-2014

Think doing the roof would look wrong on a silver car.

Progress thread Tucpal - WhelanUK - 8:th-Sep-2014

I think the car looks bang on as it is. Is just go for the exhaust and leave it at that.

No problem, can always do it and see how u feel, can always take it off, yeh I'm up for a meet!

I've got a can of plastidip and wanted to do a few parts

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 8:th-Sep-2014

i took your advice on the center caps and i agree they look better all gloss black

the window trims must go black as there the only chrome part now
i did try to wrap them gloss black before trax but i did not like the gloss black
so had to waite to get some matt black that will work very well

on the roof i would like to try it if i dont like it i can always take it off

Progress thread Tucpal - Cameron UK - 8:th-Sep-2014

Yeh those centre caps look smart, vinyl should only cost u about £40/£50 to do it all, just let me know a time and place (with electric)

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 9:th-Sep-2014

the First bit arrived today going for dark smoked repeaters and the nurburgring carbon domed inserts

Progress thread Tucpal - Cameron UK - 9:th-Sep-2014

Couldn't u get some irmscher ones to match ur theme?

Progress thread Tucpal - tucpal - 9:th-Sep-2014

nope i did look
