RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - Jerry - 23:rd-Feb-2016 I did it last year in November. Today I do not see any difference despite winter road conditions. Since then I also washed the car twice with high-presurre cleaner (from safe distance of course)
RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 23:rd-Feb-2016 That's reassuring. In fairness, given how quick it was to do I don't mind Re doing it should I need to. Luckily my postman knows the score and left it in a safe location else id have missed it. I'll get it fit later today or tomorrow. ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 25:th-Feb-2016 Can anybody help with this sharkfin? I know what the cables are for... Doesn't take a genius to figure that one but I'm not sure what I need to wore the DAB wire up to. I'm assuming the white plug is for power, the squarish plug is for FM and the circle one is for dab. It's that one which confuses me. In the envelope I got a long VAG group cable but I can't see where I'd be using it. As it looks like it plugs into the FM cable. I'm so confused!! ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 25:th-Feb-2016 So whilst I wait for somebody marginly more switched on than me to help with the above, I thought I'd take advantage of my last day off and the nice whether and give her a little spruce ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - mrtc - 25:th-Feb-2016 looks lovely RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - sheppy1 - 25:th-Feb-2016 Those alloys are awesome mate!!! Love them!!!
RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 25:th-Feb-2016 Cheers guys. The wheels really set it off. I'm going to do my brake calipers soon. I'm thinking red or yellow. Just need to do this aerial.... Lol Like the wheel colour. Bhalay207's Progress thread - Rusty2009 - 25:th-Feb-2016 White plug power Black fakra is Dab (square) Round one is FM. I did just send you links in the PM. RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 27:th-Feb-2016 Ahhh.... In which case, you'll find me over there! Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 14:th-Mar-2016 Just taken delivery of my new dashcam from China. It got rave reviews for the price of it, so I thought I'd replace the GS8000L that I've also just brought. Haha. Anyway, here's the box and contents. I'm going to fit it using a dedicated hardwire kit piggybacked into the fuse box. I'll put some reviews of the camera and it's quality up later, which should be useful seeing as there's not many reviews about in general. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 14:th-Mar-2016 So ive just finished installing the camera using a hard wire kit. The build quality seems excellent for a £35 camera. One thing i didnt like is the silver ring around the lense. Seeing as I had some Plasti Dip leftover I decided to mask off the ring and spray with Plasti Dip The finish is far from perfect but it does the job in terms of not making it so obvious that there is a camera on the window from the outside. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - tucpal - 14:th-Mar-2016 Good job Bhalay207's Progress thread - Tonto - 14:th-Mar-2016 Well done mate, I so want a dash cam lol! Are they difficult to wire into fuse box?No mate not at all. I piggybacked into fuse number 6 and then ran a ground cable to the existing connections just above the fuse box. Took me about an hour and a half if that. Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Bhalay207's Progress thread - Tonto - 14:th-Mar-2016 Nice one mate, I know who to call if I get stuck haha, I'm guessing the dash cam only comes on when car is on ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 14:th-Mar-2016 Yeah gimme a shout. I put some pictures in Sheppys how to giving another option on where to run the cable. ThanksI brought it off a guy on here but @rusty2009 may have a link as he brought his from a website. Be warned though, they aren't cheap. In terms of connecting it, I ran a power cable to the front accessory socket and a aerial cable to the DAB module. I've not connected the FM wire as that involves running new cabling. It's not worth it for me as I never use FM Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - opelastra - 15:th-Mar-2016 Thanks I will buy a cheap one and see how I get on RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 15:th-Mar-2016 The cheap ones suffer with signal quality apparently. I think @sheppy1 has a cheap one and he says it's ok Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - sheppy1 - 16:th-Mar-2016 Yeaahh it's better than others I've had from eBay... Looks the same but does provide better signal, not perfect but not bad either [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] I'll link to it shortly Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - D92 - 26:th-Mar-2016 Just been looking into plastidip, that front grille looks awesome, how easy was it compared to traditional spraying, do you have sand the surface down at all? RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 26:th-Mar-2016 Just wipe it clean and then spray it. I'd recommend it over painting anyday! Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 30:th-Mar-2016 Third.... And final dashcam has arrived. Quality looks promising. It's not worth it for me as I never use FM I just taped the cable FM connector to a thin 6ft bamoo stick, making sure there were no sharp edges or anything to snag and pushed the cable between the tailgate roof lining and roof to the front passenger A pillar. I took of the front passenger hand grip off so that I could pull away the roof lining by the A pillar so that I could see the airbag, and then pulled the stick out far enough to undo the tape and pull through the FM cable. Whole job took about 15 to 20 mins in all, a lot easier than undoing the lining all the way around the passanger or drivers side, and easier than removing the trim along the floor. Anyway, hope this dash cam does the business an it looks nice and stealthy. Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 20:th-Apr-2016 Bit of an update....albeit a backwards step. This is what's left of my passenger side led setup ![]() I was fed up of having warning messages, fed up of flickering bulbs....generally irritated by it all. I set off checking all the wiring and ended up losing my patience and disconnecting the lot. Ive replaced it with one of my polarg bulbs but i need to get some more for the right hand side so they match as that has a error free led in it. Oh, and to top it off i snapped one of the retaining clips on the bulb holder. Cars! RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 20:th-Apr-2016 Haha. It was something like that yeah, especially as I was snipping it all out [POUTING FACE] Just ordered some PIAA bulbs as a replacement. Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 23:rd-Apr-2016 ![]() PIAA bulbs arrived, so they've been fitted and I'm now back 'old school' style. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 23:rd-Apr-2016 According to @tucpals thread they are a better fit than the polarg bulbs and apparently are abit whiter... Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - sheppy1 - 23:rd-Apr-2016 I did get some Samsung ones with my new lights but they weren't all that bright and the halfords halogen ones were brighter! Ha Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - stigeye - 23:rd-Apr-2016 Polargs on drl... ![]() On sidelight mode... ![]() They're a lot better than the factory bulbs (which isn't saying much) but in bright conditions you struggle to see them. Unfortunately I don't believe you can get the LED look on these type of bulbs on sunnier days, although there are probably much better bulbs than the ones I am using right now. RE: Bhalay207's Progress thread - tucpal - 25:th-Apr-2016 led will not look to good on very sunny days but it is due to the design of the drl light unit as the bulb need to use a reflector to light the unit up but on dull days the LED and Piaa are the best by far Bhalay207's Progress thread - bhalay207 - 12:th-May-2016 Well I've noticed my Plastidip grill has suffered a blow. Dammit lol. ![]() Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk |
