Hi Rusty,
Yes, it's a fog light as I sourced another reversing light from a left-hand drive model and wired it in. I left all the connections in place so it can be changed back if need be.

If that fog light lights up the number plate in anyway the car might fail an mot and the police might stop you. By law only white light can light up a rear plate. Also it might fail if the light is on and you can not see the plate because of the brightness of the light.
Worth checking if you can see the plate clearly with the light on if not relocate the light elsewhere.
