My dads car - Mspencer - 16:th-Jan-2018 My dad has a 1.4 turbo and the engine is done for but the scrap yard near his work has the 1.6 turbo is it possible to just drop the engine in or will he need all the electronics to go with it Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk RE: My dads car - Big Dave2 - 16:th-Jan-2018 I suspect at the very least he'll also need the ECU, and will also require it to be programmed to the car. Mainly for security reasons. My dads car - Iaintruten - 16:th-Jan-2018 As Big Dave2 said the ECU will definately need programmed as well as the 1.6 will have different fueling parameters etc so it would need programmed to accommodate that as I would imagine it would run lean. As you would find that every module has a part number and RPO code build dates etc which are all coded into it, when your VIN is put into SPS it will only allow you to program what should be fitted to your car. You would therefor need to apply for a VCI and they have become very strict on what they will & will not approve. My dads car - Mspencer - 5:th-Feb-2018 Will my dads turbo be of to have fitted to my car as it is only 1.4 non turbo Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk |
