Poor fuel - richje100 - 9:th-Nov-2015 Hi guys, all of a sudden I've noticed my fuel range dropping a lot. For instance, yesterday it said 480 miles drove 30 mile now says 425 and I'm driving sensibly. Noticed first gear seems sluggish with hesitation then bouncing but other gears work fine. Wondering if egr is blocked. I've cleaned it on my old vecci which was easy also cleaned the inlet manifold and eventually cleaned the swirl flaps. Egr easy to do on the 1.7cdti? Anything else I can try? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Poor fuel - tucpal - 9:th-Nov-2015 sounds like the best thing to do and then see what happens you can try a good quality DPF cleaner also http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141809892366?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT but remember it is winter and lights and heaters on all the time etc fuel mpg will drop in the winter months. but a good EGR clean as you say is the way forward and a good fuel cleaner also helps every 3000 miles Poor fuel - richje100 - 9:th-Nov-2015 Cheers, Ive used redex in the past and another that I can't remember - the bottle u pour to fill up a little measuring reservoir the twist the top to pour it out, millers I think? Is the egr easy enough to do? Any special tools required? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Poor fuel - Rusty2009 - 9:th-Nov-2015 Good man @Tucpal that's the best stuff to use. I need some in mine my MPG has gone down 25 from 42. RE: Poor fuel - tucpal - 9:th-Nov-2015 the EGR should just bolt off it wont be that much different from the older 1.9 cdti the next time i do it to my 2.0 cdti i will put a how to up as i need to do my one very soon but as yet we don't have a how to on that one.
