Navi950 retrofit in Zafira C - Happy25 - 15:th-Jun-2025 Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum and I’m from the Czech Republic. I drive a 2012 Opel Zafira C and I really like this car. My original Navi 900 stopped working, so I decided to replace it with the Navi 950. I already have the Navi 950 unit, but I read that it needs different microphone wiring. Is that true? What exactly needs to be changed? I’m not very experienced with retrofits, so I would really appreciate any help or advice. Has anyone here done this upgrade in a Zafira C? Was it difficult? Any problems with wiring, compatibility, or coding? Thank you very much in advance! RE: Navi950 retrofit in Zafira C - Rusty2009 - 5:th-Aug-2025 The microphone is wired into the x4 plug. You can buy a connector off AliExpress and pin a new cable into that and then into the BT module plug saves running a whole new cable. In terms of programming for unlocking you need someone that has MDI, MDI2 or VCI and knows how to program them, if you have these I can help remotely. Do you know which pins on the X4 connector are used for the microphone? I found a wiring diagram here on the forum, but on my X4 plug pin 6 is already occupied. Do you know what might be connected there? Also, could you tell me exactly what type of connector I need to connect to the existing BT module cable? I have already found someone who can handle the remote programming. One final (and probably stupid) question: has anyone found a way to install custom apps (Spotify, Sygic, etc.) on the Navi 950? A111x4 pin 6 & 16 for mic 5 & 15 is rear camera. Only way to add things like that is by adding touch screen and the wiring again needs custom programming to enable touch. Then a GROM Vline unit very expensive. There is another unit being used which doesn't need a touch screen and is cheaper than the Grom but I don't know what the unit is called. Thanks for the link — this will make my work a lot less messy .Do you know what might be connected to pin 6 on the original Navi 900 wiring? I attached a picture to my last post, but it seems it didn’t upload, so I’ll try again. Anyway, there is a yellow/brown wire connected to pin 6. Regarding apps on the Navi 950 — I meant installed directly on the unit, because I’ve seen pictures of some preloaded apps (can’t remember exactly which ones), so I was wondering if anyone has ever successfully installed a custom app on it. Probably not, though. I know about those units that connect between the Navi and the display, but the Grom is really expensive and my budget is quite tight :/ I found another unit that is much cheaper and looks promising — the Andream Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto. Is this the cheaper unit you were referring to, or has anyone here had experience with it? From the picture, the module has a different LVDS connector, but Navi 950 is listed as compatible. I’ll probably give it a try, since the latest map for the Navi 950 seems to be from around 2018 (correct me if I’m wrong), and I’ll be travelling more often now. But first I need to get the Navi 950 itself working. Even though the unit is locked, at least I can now hear the turn signal chime. Thanks again, and I’ll probably be posting here again soon. |
