Smile Help ASTRA J Induction Kit
Posted by: Winterad99 - 16:th-Apr-2018, 21:42:42 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - No Replies

Hi All,

I am new to the Astra club, my first Astra and I love it so far nearly 3 months in and no bothers!

Recently I have decided to invest a little more into her, I am looking for help on purchasing an induction kit(to replace the housing box and panel filter)

I have had kits and filters in the past on previous petrol cars but this is my very first diesel and i found it impossible to source anything.

I do not want a panel filter so please do not recommend them, Ideally I would like a decent induction kit with a  heat resistant wall but need to make sure it will fit my engine.

Astra J(mk6) SRI CDTI 2.0 Turbo Diesel 160BHP - Late 2011

Will a GTC or VXR one fit...? Or Insignia?

I am really lost Thud  as everything is VXR orientated and just want to see what you lovely chaps can recommend please.

Cheers
Adam

  Starter motor
Posted by: CraigSRi - 16:th-Apr-2018, 18:49:52 - Forum: Request for information - Replies (3)

Hi, I'm looking for the part number for a starter motor for my 2010 1.6 NA. Its a 60 plate 1.6 NA 5 door SRi and doesn't have start/stop.
I have the chance of a very low mileage starter from a Mokka with A16XER engine but not entirely sure if it'll fit.

Thanks in advance of any replies Smile

  CD450 bluetooth microphone wires
Posted by: gemini6791 - 16:th-Apr-2018, 07:12:38 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Howto's - Replies (5)

Hi all, hope i am in the right place to ask a question.
I have CD450 installed in my car, Bluetooth working and i have audio call on speakers but has not a microphone installed in a car. Got some of the eBay (part number:GM 13242355) but i am afraid there is no wiring under roof panel. Is there a way to stretch wires from microphone to stereo wiring harness in order to have it working?
If yes, does anyone know which wires (colors or pin connectors) to use from the back of the stereo to connect to microphone?
Thank you in advance.

  Leaking water on driveway
Posted by: Smith-M - 13:th-Apr-2018, 22:12:27 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (7)

Hi all, this is my first post on here so hope it’s in right place. Just after a bit of advice, I think it’s condensation from A/C (although I haven’t had it on).

I’ve noticed a few spots of clear liquid and think it’s water (see photo - ignore the oil, it’s from my old car). It is sitting on top of the oil, it’s odourless too. Is it likely to be condensation from the A/C evaporator?

Thanks. [Image: 4ca1dfb5fda58aacf81d8624b0381d9b.jpg]

  Scrapyards between Chester and Scarborough
Posted by: gazz292 - 12:th-Apr-2018, 14:52:26 - Forum: Retrofit Research - Replies (1)

Looking for recommendations of friendly scrap yards with later model vauxhalls in, the type that let you wander around and pull the parts you want yourself... not because i want to nick anything, but because i need to see how things fit as i remove them.. and be able to get any extra fixings or wiring to enable me to retro fit items to my car.

I travel between Chester and Scarborough,  along the M62 basically, and can call in any towns on route, and take a detour for a good place.

I only know of one scrapyard that i've been to so far... "U-Pull-it" by York, they have mostly older model vauxhalls in, absolutely no meriva B's at all (most parts i want are universal between vauxhalls tho)

I paid me quid to get in, put on a hi-viz vest and was told where the vauxhalls were located and left to it, i got a load of bits of wiring looms and plugs and sockets, and a sat nav antenna and coaxes from an astra H for 4 quid.. and they have a big trough with about 10 taps on it for washing your hands after.. with hot water!!
