I have the same TBH I never take notice of how they look in day light but I will next time the car goes out and will compare for you.
Yeah I got link from forum. I'm gutted because the blue light is visa leg during day and looks good whereas red looks pants lol.

Yes I need to hoover car again :/ lighting makes it look so bad hahaha

Those look good to me! Which method did you use to wire them up?

Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Photo does them more justice though, can't see them in daylight, look half decent at night. I already had them wired from my blue ones where I removed glove box, fuse box and used loom that goes up A pillar. Just waiting on another set being delivered so I can add rear footwell Smile
Then I'll be doing door handles and pockets in red too.

Like them much better [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
So the multicoloured lights finally arrived from China, will be fitting them soon when the weather holds out (don't have a full sized garage) and will grab pics when it's done

I actually got round to doing it today, and it looks pretty good. It's kept my 2 year old sister amused with all the different settings

Surely that'll be difficult to get them all on the same wires to have it so that you can change the colour with one remote?

You got a little guide on where you put everything as alot of wires and boxes

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Be interesting to see how you do that @Rusty2009

And @Lewis6317 the item number from eBay is 191697119068 but I ordered on the 24 October and it only came today, you can get UK ones for an extra tenner or so I believe. As for pictures I only got a couple whilst I was actually doing it, I'll get some when I can as its dark atm

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Edit: they're exactly the ones I ordered

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd buy something like this,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5M-Bargain-150...SwyQtVnOzy it's cuttable just a case of working out which wire changes the colour.

Hi Rusty, one of the wires got crossed on the way down the a pillar. all working fine now, added LED lights to interior as well ill try and get a picture up later
Great post, just ordered two strips in red to match the standard interior ambient lighting, can I ask if anyone has them linked in to the ambient loom so there on when the headlights are on? Was just wondering if it would be to annoying or not to have the foot wells lit whist driving.
Hi, is it possible to link the foot well lights directly into the centre console ambient light wire?

Yes it is.
Ah great thanks Rusty is it just a case of splicing into the live feed to the centre console ambient bulb and connecting to an earth somewhere? I've already ordered lights just preping meself for a mad mod easter weekend. 😎

Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Yes mate you can tap into both live & ground there or use the ground behind the glove box
Cheers mate

hi guys, Is it just my car?....I've removed the courtesy light and circuit tested found the grey door live, but it looks as the grey wire is travelling down the o\s A post and not the n\s which you are referring down behind the fuse box. its getting late now so going to trace it in the morning. would anyone happen to know if that loom is easy to get access to?
even though these led lights are not cambus do not error out.

This How to will Show and give you Information
on How to fit FOOT WELL LIGHTS..

OK for this How to you will need to get Two
LED lights one for the Driver’s side & one for the Passenger’s side
I used a 48 Led Board like the Picture below.

I can Recommend the above LED Units they are Really Bright
and have Lasted a year now
They and cost about £4.
You can find Links on eBay
You can also use LED Strip Lights if you wish.

STEP ONE...........

Buy some cable 5 AMP.
Make sure they are two Different colors one for Power and one for Ground
just so you Don't get them mixed up.
Next step Tap into the Ambient Light Circuit
for the Courtesy Lights Power & Ground
This will mean the Foot well Lights will work the way the Courtesy lights do.
Open the Door they will Light up
close the door they will Fade out
Press the Button on the Courtesy Light in the headliner
and they will Come on and Stay on till you Press the Button off.

First you need to Remove the Glove Box
follow the How To

how-to here for glove box removal

Now you have the glove box out.

Look just Behind the Fuse Box
and Pull the top Left Hand Side of the Carpet back
and you will see Three looms there.

The loom that you want is the Loom
that Goes up the A Pillar to the Headliner.

You need to Remove some of the Black Insulation Tape to get to the Wires on the Loom
& find a (GRAY) Wire there are (THREE GRAY WIRES) you need the (THICKEST ONE)
that is the Positive Wire And then Find a Black Wire
That is the Ground for you LED’S.

STEP TWO...........

Splice one Wire to the (Positive, Grey) and One Wire to the (Black, Ground)
make sure you Have the Correct amount of Wire
you need to Reach the first LED in the Passenger side.

Look around for a good Place to fix the LED LIGHT
I Fixed it with zip Ties to the Heater Blower vents
then add the Power & Ground to the LED Light
It will now Work just Open the Door or Press the Button on the Light Unit in the Headliner
and the LED will Light up But Keep the LED
Out the way of Passengers Feet so it Does not get knocked off.

STEP THREE............

Remove the Side Trims from both Sides of the Center Console they just Pull off.

Now Splice Two Wires from the Wires you have just Done on the Passenger side
And run them Through the Gap in the Center Console to the Driver side
and Add the Two Wires to the LED
Again I zip Tied the LED too the Heater Vents just above the Peddles.

Now make sure Everything is taped up
and all safe & all Neat and Tidy with zip Ties Tape etc.

ALTERNATIVE OPTION...........

You can also Take Power from the Console in the Roof if you like
so Remove the Console from the Headliner.

How-to remove courtesy light can be found here

Again you will See one Grey and one Black wire on the Connector.

You add the Two Wires from the Connector & run them Through the Headliner & Down the A Pillar
heading to the Passenger Foot well you also can Pick this Loom up Here
And Pick the Grey & Black Wires out from the Loom if you Remove the side Trim.

RESULTS........

So now that is it all Done
you now have Foot well Lights.

As always Need any help just ask Thanks.

It is always Best to Solder the Joint you have done when Splicing into any Wires
on the car and then Shrink Wrapping them this will Insure a Neat and Tidy and A Safe joint.

NOTE..........

Take extra Care when Picking out the Gray Wires from the Loom
there are Three and you need the Fattest wire..

As with all Electrical How too,s you do this at your own Risk
if Followed Correctly you will have no Problems.

even though these led lights are cambus do they not error out.
No they don't have any errors.
Hi guys. I've got problem. I was trying to follow instruction but unfortunately I have only 2 not 3 gray wires in that loom going into pillar. I've chosed thickest one but it was airbag wire. So my problem is... which one i should choose?

Wysłane z mojego SM-G950F przy użyciu Tapatalka
I would personally go off the roof light it's so much easier.
you guys think this can be done tapping directly to the fusebox with one of those split cables that Rusty has in the photos, without spicing any wires?

thanks
