Hi there, I can see that there are other threads regarding this matter but I can't seem to find the exact information I'm after. I have a 2011 Astra J 1.7 CDTI and I want to lower it, so I have been looking at Eibach springs as I don't want to go for cheap coilovers. Ideally I'm aiming for a drop of at least 30mm all round as you know the arch gap is pretty big as standard. I have recently put 18" VXR alloys onto the car also. Can anyone provide me some clearer and more up to date information about this. Thanks.
Go ahead and lower it. A 30mm drop is safe. Just ensure you purchase springs specific to your model and you’ll be fine.

Yeah mine is a standard spec so it's not already lowered 10mm like an SRI so a 30mm all round drop should be fine. Yes I could go with coilovers to get it even lower but I don't want cheap, uncomfortable ones and I am not going to spend money on good ones so I think good springs is the idea here. Do you have any idea on what springs to go for as I can't seem to find Eibach pro kit springs for a 30mm drop. Cheers.
Ah I used Eibach pro kit on my car as well. I would recommend H & R springs. Word has it that Vogtland springs are equally as good.

Just to add that I purchased my Eibach Pro Kit off EBay. The seller actually asked me for the axle load (a number I later found on the inside of passenger door) before selling to me. They insisted I find the number first. The seller’s name is essexstyling.

So just to clarify, you have lowered yours on 30mm springs? I see you have the elite spec, was that 10mm lower as standard or not? Still trying to find 30mm H&R springs though.
Yes I lowered it by 30mm Springs on 19inch wheels. The stock springs were standard. Not 10mm lower like the SRI trim.

Thanks! So what springs do you on your car now?
I still have the Eibach Pro Kit on the car.

I can't seem to find 30mm lowering springs in any of the brands you mentioned. I'm looking for the 30mm for the 1.7 CDTI 5 door.
Yes 40mm lowering springs are easier to come by at the moment. Perhaps waiting until the lockdown is over would make it easier.

Yeah can only find 40mm, hard enough to find any springs for the 5 door, plenty for the GTC. Would go 40mm if I could but reckon it's a bit too far. Cheers.
slamming mine on 40mm eibach this coming fortnight!
