Before spending money getting new parts why not have the system read to see if any error codes are stored as this would be your best starting point.

What fault code reader was used? Some of the basic and general ones for all makes of car don't work.

The power sounder IIRC is under the water deflector so it would be wipers off.
I couldn't find anything on the workshop tho to help point in the right direction.
