Hi there

I've recently bought a second hand 62 plate sri turbo, and loving the car overall. Was buying second hand so didn't have a huge amount of choice in relation to optional extras etc!

However, I've got the basic navi 400 without bluetooth connectivity. It's all a bit too basic, and I'm planning to keep this car for a few years, so looking at options to replace the infotainment system.

I'm hoping someone might be able to let me know what is available in terms of other vauxhall/opel units that would be a straight swap (and possibly the process of replacing, and connecting new unit to wheel controls for example). I've heard there are also aftermarket options out there (including some that potentially work with carplay etc!?), and would also be interested to see if anyone has any experience of them too?

I understand that there are some android units on the market too. However, the easier the install the better as I'm going to look at doing it myself!

Thanks in advance, grateful if anyone is able to help!

Hi and welcome.
The best option if you want to go factory look is a navi950 system, not the cheapest but the best look.
Android units I'm not up to speed with.
If changing to a 950 there are wiring modifications and programming to do.
As John said there is the navi950 best out of all the factory satnav's.

Android units I'm not a fan of BT is rubbish on them.

Double din is the other option.
I'm selling a full Double din set-up https://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/Thread-Double-din-setup

Cheers both, that's helpful. JPBroad, do you know if there are any tutorials out there to get me started? (is this something that someone can do at home, assuming I have the time and tools!?)

Rusty, any resources out there that you'd point me to in relation to double din units and how to install them?
In terms of Navi retrofitting there are no guides on how to do it, John or myself can fit them.

As for fitting double din I did a how-to

I've also just read through some of your tutorials and they look like a really good starting point, brilliant stuff. I've only found them by searching around, any chance you can point me through to the most up to date tutorials (if they've changed since the ones I found below).

Whilst looking at double din units is there anything I need to look out for to make sure it's compatible, will work with the steering wheel controls (connect 2 unit by the looks of it) etc.?

Personally I only go for factory fit options as in my opinion they look the best and integrate the best as they are designed to fit the best. But it's personal choice really and it's why forums like this work as there are plenty of people to offer all sorts of opinions.

How-to's are up-to date, if they are ever updated the main how-to is updated.

Yes a connects2 fitting kit is needed with a patch lead for the brand of radio you buy and it will work with steering controls.
What I'm selling is a complete kit Radio, DAB, TV, Rear screens (great if you have kids and do long journeys), speakers & connects2 fitting kit.
