Hi All!

Right, bit of an "exclusive" here! I've been in close contact with Rob from IceBox Auto for the past year or so and he's just informed me that the successor to the M072, the W072 based on the S200 architecuture rather than the S160 architecture that the M072 is based on, is due for release in the next few weeks!

This unit will have a better display, more storage, Android Oreo etc.

Below is all of the current info that Rob has been able to provide to me:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1...sp=sharing

This contains data sheets, adertisement info etc.

I have alrrady said I will buy this unit as soon as it's released and I will continue to keep thos thread updated with pics, videos etc. of the new unit to help everyone decide if they want one or not.

Any questions, let me know!
Hey Sheppy, also had a chat with Rob a few weeks ago about the s190 and he mentioned that he thought the s200 was on the way. Will probably flog my car in the new year so will probably skip the s200.

Aha! That's a shame about getting rid of the Astra. On to bigger and better things eh?

Yeah, he advised me not to get the S190 also due to the imminent release of the S200. My current unit has served me well and I use it all the time for all my in car entertainment. Its just starting to lag a little now so look forward to seeing how the S200 is

Would be great to know the difference between this one and the Android 8.0 V5754,
There is not much specs on the iceboxauto website about the V5754, but the Witson website shows it has 4GB or RAM, and the W072 only has 2GB RAM, if you speak to Rob sometime would be great to know if this is the case.
Also, are there any new BT chip in it ??
in my current A5754L, the BT chip is rubbish, my phone(s) are disconnecting constantly, so not possible to have a conversation.

Cheers!

Oh yeah! Well spotted with regards to the RAM differences! Bloody hell, 2GB is rubbish! Bit annoyed about that...

I'll have to ask Rob for the spec sheet for the current V5754 model and I'll be doing a bit more research myself too!

The reason I want an upgrade is that my M072 model is slow these days so don't really wanna be stuck with 2GB RAM on the V072 model!

Not sure about BT, I do agree though, the BT built into the M072 is awful! I gave up on it and bought a BT device to clip onto my visor.

Edit: it states on the spec sheet that a 4GB RAM upgrade is available for the W072 unit... Would have to he specced like this straight from Rob/Factory of course

You can never get too much RAM!! and 2GB is not really cutting it with Android Oreo.
Another thing that would be good to know is if the port nr. 08 in the Rear panel plug mapping is the port and cable that fits the stock USB port in the Astra.
Just noticed on the spec sheet that it says there is 4GB ram available.

I don't know about bigger and better but I do think my next car will not be a vx and will probably be something nicer to drive like a focus or golf Smile

Yeah I spotted that too and I asked Rob if he will be stocking both the 2 and 4GB models or if we just pick which we want before ordering and he can get either from the supplier. Will report back when I know more

I’ve only got 2gb on mine and tbh it’s not too bad at all

Any feedback from Icebox??

I spoke to icebox, and it is the 2GB version they have.

I am considering the V5754 with 4GB instead.

Personally I think that’s a better choice, I wasn’t a fan of the card slots on the front of the S160, the V5754 looks a bit more OEM

It does look like it's taken a step backwards but in saying that it wouldn't bother me about the SD ports on the screen.
I ordered the V5754 and should be arriving tomorrow, looking forward to changing to the New model.
I also invested in a replacement aerial with GPS, DAB and FM.

I will be interested in this unit as well. I was going to go for the V5754 but have heard bad reports about the bluetooth connectivity, and the GPS SD card port is where the sport / VXR buttons are on my car so I wasn't sure how that would work. Having the SD card slots on the front wouldn't bother me TBH, it is more how well the unit works especially blutooth and wifi connection as this seems to be a weak point with these units so far.

You’re spot on about the sd card slot on the V5754 so I can’t see them fitting a vxr but I’m not sure if the covers on the front of the W072 are removable either so I’d check with Icebox first.

As for Bluetooth, I have the B5754 which is the Android 6 version and mine has been perfect since I’ve had it. Connects first time every time and never had any problems when on a call
