Hey guys, anyone know off top of their head price of front pads for 12plate 1.7sri?
Having same noise as I did on my vectra - full steering lock reversing then brake and hear a loud noise like metal bending effect so think its time to change pads.

No idea lol. Give me 10mins and I'll check. Where's easiest place to find engine number? Do I have to remove any coverings?

Is your car the 110bhp or 130bhp

Does seem a little steep, but that's Vauxhall for you
That's true. Might tackle this myself using the guide tucpal posted, the youtube vid looks easy to follow too. Aslong as u stick to the advice can anything go wrong? Someone told me there's only one way to do the pads so nothing can go wrong

If following the guide you shouldn't have any problems.
You can get the pads cheaper from ebay
Mintex £36
Ferodo £48
Where are you and do you have access to a trade card?
I'm in blackwood , Caerphilly. Nearest vx is hutchings in treeforest which I go for warranty work and I got a service plan aswell which gets me either 10% or 20% off I think

With your discount shouldn't be too bad

What a confusing post! All 1.7 diesel have the same size brakes, no matter what model of engine.

I was just checking as the online trade book list 2 different part numbers, 2 different engine codes and 2 different wheel sizes
Had same issue with pads and discs for my 2.0ltr vectra had 2 sizes so I don't think its uncommon. Thanks for everyone's help

it is confusing but all 300mm front pads for the 115 pcd disc are the same

No I did not say it was confusing. I said your posts are confusing! Quite simply, 1.7L diesel have 300mm front brakes.
