So been a way for a while ....too busy at work and spending far too much time re-powering my Kia Sportage - shes a wee beastie now ;-).

Got hold of some front foglight's , the correct switch , all the connectors were in place , plugged everything in and Woo hoo - absolutely nothing, all other lights work just not the front fogs.

Tentative call to my local Vauxhall stealer only to be told it couldn't be done , needs activating in software !! - WTF, another call to an independent dealer and was quoted 400 to activate them.

I have had it with this piece of crap I really have.

Oh and according to the terms of the finance deal I'm stuck with this heap of junk for another 3 years.

Only other option (apart from torching it) is to get one of those op-com things from ALi Express and see if I can do it myself.
To complain about the car because idiots say it can't be done or want a stupid £400 is abit overkill.

1. You won't be able to do it with op-com.
2.A VCI request needs to sent to GM
3. GM will send VCI code back within 48hrs
4. Gets programmed into the BCM.

5. My price to activate front fogs £70 that includes the fee GM will charge me to supply the VCI code.

Totally agree with the above if you had just asked we could have told you all this and saved you a load of cash and heart ache rusty can do the fogs real cheap dealers don't do retro fits they don't know how and they don't want to get evolved that's why we are here we can retro fit almost anything you like just ask here first
Thanks for the replies folks, yes it was a kinda dumb thing to say, my frustration having got the better of me.
I guess i'm a little annoyed with myself for going along with wifee's decision and not following up on what we were actually getting.
This is my first Vauxhall ever (30+ years of driving and owning cars) and its the first one I cannot do a damned thing to (mods) , and if I'm honest it is totally the wrong car to do things to anyway (as in I find it ludicrous that Vauxhall would lock things down so tight and their weird selection of equipment level's).

But the fault is all mine for not doing my home work, I'm going to let the wife have it and I'm going to keep playing with the Kia, So for me it is over (and thanks to all for their helpful criticism's and offers to sort things but it really is pointless (in this case as I dont actually own the car - finance).
