Hi, on cold morning my astra J 1.7 110 2010 has a squeak which goes after 5 minutes or until warm then after the squeak has quietened you can hear this strange clicking tapping noise only when lights, radio on etc like its coming from the alternator which is still original but giving good reading on battery and charge?

A few people have brought this up on facebook and the general consensus was that it only happened on frosty cold mornings. Has yours only started doing this when it is cold in the morning also?

It squeaks when cold but when warm the squeak goes replaced by the clicking (unless cannot hear the clicking under the noise of squeaking) it does it all the time once a load is applied like lights or blowers, turn everything off fine, turn fans on bingo click click, its off into the garage on Friday so maybe they can shed some light? I'm suspecting alternator but will see what they say
