I may be completely missing something here, but when I go through Android System Settings, I have WIFI settings but no Bluetooth Settings.

I can pair phones using the Bluetooth Blue Icon related to the phone for A2DP but what I am trying to do is pair my MaxiScan ODB2 reader to the head unit.  I can't download optional Bluetooth stuff from the play store as the device is "incompatible"...

This is my ODB2 reader:

Why can't I use Android Bluetoooth Settings rather than "discovering" devices via the head unit's phone app?

Any help greatly appreciated!
You're right... All bluetooth connectivity goes through the phone app. I also couldn't pair the happy blue OBD2 device via the unit either.

Hmm... I wonder if there's a work around? Like updating the android version?
Does it give you the option to download any code reading software?

If it does you can use a wifi reader like I have to with my iPhone you should be able to get one where you purchased the one above
You can't update the android version... Only upgrades and updates provided by the manufacturer will work
