Hi All,
since i bought my Astra j 1.7cdti 2011/12 Elite- 5door Hatchback, i have been reading this forum and other Vauxhall forum to get more information and recently did my own servicing.

I noticed another thing on my Astra, as when you have your front fog light on, the beam light wont stay on and when you turn off the fog light off, then the beam light stays on. If the Front Fog lights stays on, you can use the beam to flash, but it will not stay or permanent. Is this how it works.

I noticed another thing, is when i drive the car at night, i see lot of refelection of the opposite side of the car light on my windscreen and they are just normal light. I thought something wrong with my screen or i need to have the Anti Glare Glasses.

Thanks for looking at the post and appreciated your replies.
I know with the fog lights they won't let you put full beam on aswell because if it's foggy visibility gets worse with full beams. That's why

Not sure about the glare issue
Thankyou for your reply.

I have now sorted it out, as it works on Manual light settings and if set on Auto it will not work.

I thought i mentioned this, as i saw another Vauxhall Astra Elite 2.0cdti 63reg and i asked him politely about the Beam light staying on when your front fogs light is on and he tried this on his car and it stayed on.

So there must something wrong on my car then.

I phone another Vauxhall Perrys and he told me your beam light will work if you have the light setting on the manual settings. If you have it on Automatic the beam light will not stay on if the fog lights are on,as the computer thinks you have too many lights on.

So if you want to have the fog light and full beam light on a very dark road, you will need to have it on manual setting, so turn the dial to clockwise for manual lighting.

So there is nothing wrong with my beam light.

Glare issue i will have t owork this one out. I like the rear view mirror, as light from the rear car does not glare into your eyes anymore, as old car did.
