as there have been loads of reports
of the clutch peddle squeaking when you press it down
and this is a very simply fix
all you really need to fix this is
too add a good amount of grease
to the top of the clutch peddle
in the position marked in the picture

it is a real tight space so i strongly recommend applying the grease by hand
and working it in to the moving parts and the spring at the top of the peddle
just spaying wd40 on this will not cure it
and it will come back with out the use of grease
and you wont get it too go were you need it by spaying it up there blindly
it will need grease to work properly.

a real easy fix to a some what very annoying problem if you have it.
Does this work for the clutch pedal as well? Mine is squeaky
Can't see why not it looks more like it's been marked on the clutch pedal.
brake or clutch this will work
the problem is there is not enough grease applied to the spring and pin
when it leaves the factory this problem also effects the insignia
Ahhhhh thank you. Mine squeeks & drives me crazy. Any sort of greese?
bearing grease will do nicely but applying it by hand is a must do dont use spray grease
Its a right pain to do. I have applied grease and it still squeaks a little
it is a very tight space to get to but it will work it is just getting the grease in the wright place
I couldn't find a spring at all. I did find a white guide behind the clutch peddle. There is a ball bearing that runs in the slot on the guide. Greased that & the noise went
cool it should stop it for good it has been a few years now and i have not had it again since i did it
The top of the clutch pedal where the squeak seems to come from can be sprayed from the gap where the steering column adjuster handle is .
It gives great access to the top of the clutch pedal mechanism . i used  a can of gt83 as it has ptfe in it and it has seemed to stop the problem.
Hope it helps .
