VXOC Astra-J/GTC

so i have a recall today to remove the battery cover as it may block the cooling fan
and to check the cooling fan is not blocked or obstructed
funny as my car has never had the battery cover fitted but i did get one and fit it myself
so looks like i will remove this just to be on the safe side
i will give them a phone about this as i am not going to the dealers just to have them remove a battery cover
but i also know this is not a new recall and has been around for a while now.

I also fitted one myself. Looks much better with it fitted. The car went in for a service 2 weeks ago and they never said a word.

very strange i will give them a call over this

It's really popping up on Facebook my advise is remove the battery cover and book the car in.

I do believe there is a tweak to the software to cut the engine if there is a problem with the fan to stop anything catching fire.
