now all we want is an how to Tongue

I won't be doing a how-to for this one sorry mate it's cost me a lot of money and time and is very complicated plus you need a VCI code.

JohnL Wrote:Well done Rusty! Bet you are looking forward to taking the car for a spin in the dark now Big grin

Yes mate I need to put some charge in the battery and also get some fuel as I'm below quarter of a tank and I don't like being that low.
Well done mate you won't be disappointed.

I think a how-to needs to be done as there's a lot of interest in the retrofit and I think the price will come down

well done rusty that has been a major amount of dedication and work to have gone through with this
it was a pleasure to help in proving that ALF can be done at long last WELL DONE....

unfortunately it is a bit like the NAV retro fit programming is a big part of this
and this is something the dealers will not do.

i am sure if you want this done rusty can sort a price out to fit and program
but it will not be cheep as the parts are expensive and there is a fair amount of work involved
and not every car will be able to do this.
we want a day and knight vid Clap

Yeah once I've put the car back together Lol Just pulled it out the garage so I can twist the data wires together. Out comes the glove box again Thud
Well what I will do is add some info so people can check there fuse board if you have the wrong board its a non starter unless you pay the £350+ for a new board.
Thanks rusty.

Now u need to get the washer jets working otherwise it's an mot failure, good work though!
Yep just waiting on GM to get back to me on that as I've tried SPS'ing the IPC as that's where they are turned by and it wont hold the info, I asked them If I need a VCI and they said no so I've asked them how I turn them on as the SPS'ing the IPC wont turn hold the software to turn them on.
Here's something interesting to ponder over the Corsa comes with AFL's but dosent have headlight washers and has manual headlight leveling.

The Corsa doesn't have xenon's does it?
You can manual on the Astra if you wanted.
Congratulations Rusty, I always knew it, that you would be successfull in the end. Good work, now put your feet up for a while you deserve the rest. And so does your bank balance. Regards Migwell
Yep Corsa definitely has Xenon's
Well been for a drive and I'm so glad it's fitted and working now, I could see where I was going went round a corner and the lights followed lol.

Glad I kept at it I was getting close to giving up.

They only need to work if it looks like they are fitted. If in doubt, then it's a pass

That was my thoughts on it.

Right been a bit of a back and forth day today.

GM sent me the VCI code for the IPC which I put in this, this wiped out my TPMS so I then got 2 new VCI codes one for the BCM which included the the TPMS, headlamp washers and AFL and one for the IPC which included TMPS & AFL.

So headlamp washers do work via GDS2 but not the stalk I'm going to have to check the wiring to make sure although I know it's all there at the BCM.
there will be a data signal some were you are getting there
Headlamp wash

So does that mean you've got it all sorted now?
That's controlling it via GDS2 which I could never do before, stalk still need to look into it. Which I will do but not today.

Got to make my daughter a headboard today.
getting there :cool

but were is my ALF night video Lol

Your have to wait my dash cam comes and I've fitted it Lol
that will do but go for a nice drive down a twisty lane so we can see the corner lamps work :cool
That reminds me I refitted the dash cam
Right for those that want to check the fuse board.

Please note these are pictures of a donor board.

Fuse's and relays
12 Adaptive forward lighting module
23 Headlamp washer system
24 Right low beam (Xenon)
25 Left low beam (Xenon)
33 Adaptive forward lighting
K05 KR2 HeadlampWasher Fluid Pump Relay
K06 KR49 Headlamp Low Beam Relay

You can check where all these are in the fuse's thread http://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/Thread-Fuses 2nd post

If you have them it would be safe to say you have all pins underneath but it will pay to double check this.

So Disconnect the Negative terminal of the battery, then undo the 3 10mm bolts (they wont come out) you will feel a slight click when they are undone.
DO NOT REMOVE ANY FUSES OR RELAYS YOU DON'T NEED TO

Next get a trim tool and if you look on each side of the board you will see 2 clips just use the the tool and praise them outwards and lift one Conner of the board at a time (Not too far just enough so they are un-clipped)

Then carefully lift the board up may need a wiggle and then turn it over and just make sure the bottom of the board has all pins in (in this picture you can see some are missing).

Refit the board Make sure you do not over tighten the blots but make sure they are done up nice and tight If your car wont start afterwards you've not tightened them up enough.

PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTION IN THIS THREAD AS PM'S WILL BE IGNORED
(LET OTHERS KNOW THE ANSWER/S TO ANY QUESTION/S TOO)

Looking good, hats of to you!
JohnL Wrote:That reminds me I refitted the dash cam

Got some Pic's mate
Will get them tonight and stick them up. Need to finish running the wire to the power point as currently comes out under the glove box and along the side. The camera isn't as small as the one you've order though

Looks like someone is going out tonight for a drive

Rusty well done enjoy your new headlights . May i ask you something i have all the fuses and relays on the fuse box can afl be retrofiteed in my car ? also dash cam for high bean assist is needed or it can work without it.
If you have all the fuses relays I see no reason why not, have you pulled the board out and checked you have a full set of PIN's?

I fitted the HBA mirror and I've turned it on via the IPC but tested it last night and couldn't get it working, It's not needed and it's not listed as part of the AFL system.

I could check your part number of the fuse board.

If you can get me the part number and Ident code I've put a red mark around in the below pic.

It must be said that AFL is not a recognized retro-fit and therefore to request the VCI code's I had to select another retrofit option and GM could still refuse to supply the VCI code's.
Part number 13302311 qc , i have all fuses and relays in potition weird ,and 2010 models needs vci? thanks rusty.
Odd that part number cannot be found in my March 2013 copy of EPC I'm going online tomorrow so I will check it tomorrow.

My understanding is that pre 2012 cars don't need VCI codes for the radio side of things but does for other things, I've got to request a VCI code for retrofitting front fogs to a 60 plate tomorrow.
This should show the lights twisting as I go round the roundabouts

I know you wanted county lane  but we were moving slow on it and unless I go miles out there aren't to many near me.

I checked that part number online and still won't find it so it must of been replaced with a new part number but it normally locates it.

I'll contact the dealership Monday and see what they find.

I found a 2nd hand fusebox with the same part number on ebay and the listing had a VIn so put that into EPC and came back with the following part number 13302305
Thanks BAZ, didn't think to look on eBay.

I find it on ebay with same part number but nothing more , also in oemcats i find it with same part number and it says Opel\Vauxhall kat-code: 1247020
i don't know if that helps . Thank you guys .
Yes I found the Kat number and still nothing,

The part number Baz posted doesn't list T4A (Halogen) or T4F (Xenon) so should be capable of running both.

I still advise you check the pins on the bottom of the board though.
Baz can you confirm there are fact 2 ballasts for the 3 door AFL headlamp?

One on the bottom and one on the side.
Yes there are 2 one is for the bulb think the other is for lense movement
Thanks mate just wanted to confirm as EPC list two, crazy there is two on GTC and one on the the 5 door.
After seeing @Dicko yesterday and chatting about the headlamp washers I can confirm mine are working 100%, mind you doesn't seem to clean them much but with all that salt on the roads yesterday it's no wonder Lol
cool...
